When I said goodby to W7 on Monday I could've easily run for another 3 mins...today W8R1 π²...that was hard! Fair enough I've only had a cup of tea & a cup of coffee today so I haven't actually eaten yet..& I do normally run first thing on a morning, I was due to do this run yesterday but that's another story (!) so it was either wait ANOTHER day or run today on an empty stomach...well, I won't be doing that again!!! My legs felt like concrete pillars!!! I should've at least squeezed a banana in but I just didn't think...no water either so I'm sat here downing a litre in less than 2 minutes!! I seem to find the first run of every week (except W5!!!) a bit of a pull, is that just me???
It was an uneventful run today, no car thieves, no helicopters, no police...just me, a few dog walkers & the sun βοΈ oh and a few gremlins....
Happy Thursday everyone...

Oooohhhhhh Those pesky gremlins - done days there others no where to be heard . Each increase does bring them to the surface . R 2 will be better I'm sure . You completed it which is fantastic .
Well done - banana banana bananas ππππππ
Def could've done with a banana!!! Or two!! The gremlins did keep making an appearance but they didn't win because I was thinking of what my post on here was going to be!!! π
I was the other way around...end of wk7 no way could I do another 3...then Tuesday was surprised when Sarah said you've finished!!! See what tonight brings. No running in empty not great!! But, YOU DID IT!!! ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»π
I thought of you MummyCav on my last run (actually my graduation run ) when I heard a helicopter overhead... No wonder today's felt worse when you didn't have all that high-octane drama happening all around you!
My mantra is that battling through those tough runs is what makes us stronger. Every flying run you have is because you've battled through a tough one, so you've just put another in the bank
Aww, thinking of me on your graduation run??!! Dodging escapee car thieves??!!! Having the police helicopter zooming in on my new trainers?!!! It was all going on....!! Yes, more mileage & stamina in the bank...it was a toughee but I did it πͺπ»πππΌββοΈ
Agree totally, just when you think you've got it bossed it bites back.
I think we might be being a bit hard on ourselves. After all, it's not like we are doing the same every time. It's meant to get harder ain't it?!:)!!!
Sometimes there are days like that, just not enough time to fit everything in. Well done I'm sure the next run will be better- only 5 left until you graduate!
You are doing wonderfully..the weeks just take us on, but can sometimes be a bit iffy to begin with...the only time I ran on an empty tum I felt really yukky... so maybe that did not help you..
Crikey Mummycav you have some exciting runs...police, helicopters, car thieves!
I was thinking this morning that sleep plays a big part in performance. During this week, I've tried to be in bed and lights offf 10:30-11:30. Early for me, as it's usually 12:00 am!
On Wednesday I did W8R2 and would say it was one of the best longer runs I've had.
Last night, bedtime was 11:30/12:00, although I'm not running as I'm off to work, I feel tired and groggy and don't think I'd run well if I were going.
Chalk this one up to experience, no Run is wasted and the next will be better.
Exactly the same for me, thought w8r1 was never going to end! That extra 3 mins felt like an hour, but main thing is we did it. Run 2 tomorrow and actually looking forward to it, have put a new playlist on so that should pass the time.
I always run first thing in the morning and have half pint of water before I go out at 6am.
Have noticed though if have wine the night before (and it's only usually one glass, sometimes two on a weekend) I find it harder the next day on my run.
New trainers this week tooπMust be a week 8 thingππββοΈ
Run 2 for me tomorrow, but it's the park run again so I don't know whether to incorporate it with that again...it kind of works...I have found the third run of these long runs the easiest...I will definitely make sure I'm well hydrated before I go & I might do a new playlist too...thanks for the idea!!! Enjoy your run ππΌββοΈππΌββοΈ
You got the run in well done... And another park run tomorrow you are doing so brilliantly well mate will have that graduation badge before you know it π
