This is my first post on Health Unlocked. I'm a 68 yo who ran again after 5th form 6 weeks ago. Scared silly of the 8 minutes jobs tomorrow. 5 minutes was OK, just.
Luckily, I have an appointment with my doctor booked for 9am, so if the cardio-vascular system is screwed, I will be in the right place.

Welcome to this very helpful, encouraging and friendly forum. I have found the forum really informative and soon twigged the advice that we need to trust the programme and take it slow and steady. It is not a race and we can go at our own pace, repeating a run if we feel that suits us. Have you read the pinned post in the right hand panel FAQ POST........HOW TO RUN C25k? It is very comprehensive.
Well done making a start. You will find numerous older runners here and apparently there was a 83 year old graduate last year, so you are not alone. I still feel like a newbie after just 9 weeks running, but my advice gleaned from here is slow down. I look forward to reading of your progress. All the very best for the 8 minutes!
Age is only a number, I am 72, a cyclist for 40 years, a runner for, well, 7 weeks, good exercise both cycling and running, also I do long walks in the winter when I do not cycle, best of luck to you. I noticed that there are many men and women in there 70's doing C25K.
