Went out at 5am to do W1R2 💪🏻

First run scheduled with Work. Was debating last night whether to just go out first thing or leave it till this evening. Glad I went out this morning, air was kind of cool and it was light and quiet.

The run itself felt okay, although my left knee started to ache a little. Idk if it’s because of the walking I did yesterday (I did a lot) or what. It wasn’t unbearable though and I think I went slightly faster than I did on my first run (not that it matters).

Can’t wait to finish week 1 on Thursday!

Thank you! It was either go out then or go to the gym after work, I wanted to do the running outside again to build my confidence and it also means I get to just make my tea straight away when I get home later and I’ve only had to wash my hair the once this morning, rather than this morning and this evening after my run!

I thought I was going out early today- in about 10mins, 7am- and realise I am positively late!! Very impressed. Rain forecast in 40mins so that’ll help my speed work this morning!!

Ha it’s still very early! Although I’m already on my way to work now :(

Good luck! Hopefully it’s still quite cool out there for you :)

Cool enough, thanks, and I beat the rain, which actually hasn’t started yet so I needn’t have rushed! 😂

Best time of day for a run. Sets the rest of the day up really nicely. Good for you for shaking off the duvet and getting out there!! :-)

Yeah I’m glad I did it then! Wasn’t sure how I’d feel when the alarm went off (if I didn’t feel like it my next alarm was set for 5:45) and at first I thought nahhhh I’ll just do it later, after a couple of minutes I realised how awake I felt and just went for it! Really happy I did though.

Best advice for you atm is to find a routine that works for you and stick with it. You'll get into a groove and then you're all set..

Yeah it’s hard at the minute because none of my days have a set routine anyway! Thursday I think I’ll just go when I get up again, I’ve got nothing else to do then! Saturday will be trickier because I’m in work 5-2, so might wait until the evening but then I’m thinking I might be too tired so might save the run for Sunday. We’ll see how the week goes on!

Blimey. Working around changing shift patterns sounds a bit tricky. Might be worth dropping a note to the incredibly lovely Hidden . She does insane NHS shifts but manages to fit in her runs with a big smile and wave to everyone. She's probably got some great tips :-)

Ha it’s not so much shift work as more being in uni and working two different jobs!

The job I do Tuesdays and Wednesdays I’m actually leaving tomorrow just for the summer, because uni is gonna pick up again for the next few months, but instead the job I do on Saturdays I’m extending to Friday Saturday Sunday. It’s gonna be tricky but can’t wait for a few months time to have a steady routine :) hopefully by then I’ll already be running my 5k in 30 minutes lol!
