So week 6 is behind me as I conquered the 25 minute run yesterday. Boy that felt good!!! It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but I did have to battle my mind a bit especially after Laura said I'd done 5 minutes and then I thought Oh my God, I've still got 20 minutes to go...but I didn't stop, I kept going (slowly) and made it right to the end.
I haven't looked at what's in store yet for week 7, maybe I should

Brilliant well done! As Laura said, you are now officially a runner! Week 7 is now just continuous running! I really struggled with r1 (my fault as I hadn't prepared properly) but then I did r2 on Friday and for the first time ever I felt brilliant whilst I was running. I haven't do ne r3 yet as I usually run on Sunday but was away for the weekend so going to try and go today! Keep going and good luck with Week 7 x
Just curious but how do you prepare before you run? I am just wondering if there is anything I should be doing that I'm not! I'm doing run 1 tomorrow (should have gone today but had a washing fail at the weekend!)
Well when I said prepare.........(think I might have exaggerated!) When I went on r1 I had eaten about 45 mins beforehand (forgot to have lunch and was starving so ate loads of stodge) so ended up with a major stitch. I also didn't think about my route so I ended up running back towards home for the last 5mins which is uphill - I felt totally battered by the end and a bit fed up, however, I did r2 and felt marvellous - I run on an indoor running track on Friday (whilst my youngest does gymnastics....2 birds and all that!) so its lovely and flat and not so rough on my slightly knackered knees!
I am working at home today and have had a 'slightly heavy' weekend so no idea how I'll get on today with r3 but will let you know.
Well that was a disaster! Went on r3 and got to 12 mins and had serious cramp in my right calf muscle! Had to abort! (serves me right for trying to run after spending a night dancing in high heels) - oh well. Will try again later in the week x
Oh no!! I can't do anything after a 'heavy night' these days. I was in London thursday night for an awards ceremony (sounds more grand than it was) but boy did I pay for the free champagne the next day!!! Thankfully Friday was a rest day
I have just finished all of Week 6 too and not particularly looking forward to Week 7 with all longer runs. Having come this far though can't give up now!
