W6R2 That was just hideous!

Having been really chuffed with myself about the 05.30 W6R1 shuffle I embarked on R2 with a reasonable amount of optimism. Sadly it was misplaced - it was HORRIBLE. It’s hot and sticky out there and I could have crawled quicker than I ran but at least it’s in the bag. Should I redo some of the previous runs or push on through?

Oh no! The curse of W6 again. It's obviously a notoriously tricky b*stard for a lot of us.

If you've done R2, that's your last ever walking break. If you found W5R3 okay then I'f say push on into R3 and see how you feel.

But a "Week" doesn't necessarily mean 7 days. If you're concerned then take an extra rest day and have another go. At this point it's about feeling mentally "on your game". Anything that will build your confidence is going to be the right answer.

Hugs tho for getting out there :-)

Last ever walking break, is it?! 🙈😫 is just done week6run2 this morn

Yes - basically what Sallenson said! Well done for getting out there. I struggled with W6r1&2 but I found R3 (not easy) but def easier that 1&2. I had 4 days off in between- just because of other stuff going on so Sallenson is right if you need an extra day take it. I think it helps sometimes. Good luck. I'm sure you will smash it.

Dear Lord!! Am I becoming "wise" in my dotage?

in reply tosallenson

Didn't someone call you a "wise old sage" on here? Of course you are.....

Defo "old" anyway.. I get "Affordable Mobility Solutions" catalogues thru the post these days...

Oh God so do I (I'm 53!) and offers for SAGA holidays - mind u - they are a bit cheaper.......

I’m 53 too which could be the nub of the problem! I expect to be running like a gazelle by now rather than a lumbering overweight hippo! Onwards and upwards....

Now come on! There's nothing wrong with us all being in our 50s! Though I'm still waiting for the "maturity" that someone once promised me....

Ha ha! I know we forget that we aren't as young anymore- I look at my (17) y o daughter & I think - I used to have a figure like that! Don't do yourself a disservice though - as Iannodatruffe always says - at least you are getting out there & doing it which is more than those still sitting on the couch! Good luck & keep us posted

Well done for pushing on and completing. No, don’t repeat the run. Just take the third run slowly. Enjoy it!

Well done 👍🏻 Lots of us struggled with this run after the ‘high’ of W5R3. Definitely onwards and upwards! I’m finding the continuous longer runs from W6R3 on much easier- I get into a better (very very slow 🐌) rhythm. Good luck with W6R3. Beth xx

I’ve just done same run as you. How warm is it!!! I look like I’ve had a allergic reaction to some thing 🤣I thought after the trauma of the 20min run I’d feel stronger but I’m not. Im powering through thou and hoping my body will catch up at some point 🙏🏼
