Done..and it was hard! Im a 40yr old, overweight person who hasn't exercised since the pre-GCSE netball team ๐ I have always said I'm not built for running, avoiding it wherever possible... But I really need to increase my fitness and lose some weight!

Yes it is hard, but I promise you it will get easier. Iโm an ex-smoker in my 50s who also thought sheโd never run, but here I am on week 6! Itโs all about self belief and learning about your body. What other people are doing may be too much for you or too easy. Make sure you rest between runs (maybe swim or bike but take a day away from pounding the streets). Iโve also learned that hydrating properly the day before a run is really important and if Iโm struggling to slow it down. Good luck on your journey to 5k, donโt try to be Mo Farah straight away!๐
Welcome and well done for getting off the sofa, you are a runner now!!! This is a fantastic forum inclusive of all so you will find many kindred spirits here who will encourage your running journey! ๐โโ๏ธ๐
Week 1 run 1 was the worst one for me - it just got better after that. I think the first one gives your body a bit of a shock after all those years without exercise. Keep it up, and donโt skip the rest days!
