Done..and it was hard! Im a 40yr old, overweight person who hasn't exercised since the pre-GCSE netball team ๐Ÿ˜‚ I have always said I'm not built for running, avoiding it wherever possible... But I really need to increase my fitness and lose some weight!

Yes it is hard, but I promise you it will get easier. Iโ€™m an ex-smoker in my 50s who also thought sheโ€™d never run, but here I am on week 6! Itโ€™s all about self belief and learning about your body. What other people are doing may be too much for you or too easy. Make sure you rest between runs (maybe swim or bike but take a day away from pounding the streets). Iโ€™ve also learned that hydrating properly the day before a run is really important and if Iโ€™m struggling to slow it down. Good luck on your journey to 5k, donโ€™t try to be Mo Farah straight away!๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Week 1 run 1 was the worst one for me - it just got better after that. I think the first one gives your body a bit of a shock after all those years without exercise. Keep it up, and donโ€™t skip the rest days!
