Today was W9R2 - so close to graduation I can almost taste ! ๐
It started and ended well and I enjoyed it, more than what other people did! ๐๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
I was about 18 minutes in, when I slowed down as I was coming up to a gate, I passed a Middle Aged guy out walking his dog, who came out with the comment: I never expect to see people โlike youโ out running! ๐ณ I asked him what he meant and he just looked me up and down and gave a half smile. At which point I, not so politely, told him to remove this head from up his back side, open his eyes and stop being arrogant and yes even โfatโ people can run! ๐ก๐ก๐ก๐ก I think he was more embarrassed than me by that point, I went on my way slamming the gate shut behind me! - Yes I am over weight, and have about 3 stone to lose, but what he didnโt know is that I have already lost 4 and a half stone, so Iโm well on my way!
5 mins later and I was running towards a group of lads (about 10 years old) playing at the side of trail where I was running. At which point 2 of the lads see me, they ran ahead slightly and drew a finish line in the dirt. All 4 cheered as I crossed the line, even though I still had a few minutes left.
I didnโt know either the guy with the dog or young lads. Some people say the youth of today have no respect but these young lads could have taught the older a guy a thing or two!!!
Donโt let small minded people put a dampener on something you enjoy, regardless of where you are in your journey - Do it for you!
Anyway, another run complete, next is graduation!
Happy running all! ๐๐
