So the day is finally here! I started this programme on April 4th and today I graduated!
Very hot Bournemouth beach for my final run to the pier and back. Laura was there with me all the way. She knows me so well ‘ you’re doing so well’...’I know you’re getting tired but keep going’. Got to love her!
I was the most relaxed I’ve been and my breathing was in control all the way. I think completing the park run on Saturday took the pressure off trying to do 5k today. That was my intention but too bloody hot so just ‘enjoyed’ the run. 4.5k not bad.
To all those on this plan especially my week 9 crew we are doing this! I’ve loved the support and comradery between us all. Long may it continue!! Chapter one done! 👊🏼

Yay!! Well done you!!! All smiles! Enjoy stepping up to the podium and collecting your shiny medal. Fantastic!!🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️Look forward to hearing about chapter 2
Didn't manage to get out there today - bad night's sleep Luckily my work schedule this week means I can run Tues and Thurs instead.
Going to run Week 9 run 1 in Parkrun on Saturday but might not actually get the other two runs in until the week after next. It's half term here next week and my 13 year old son will be with me. He's keen to have a go at Parkrun (he registered yesterday!) but he's asthmatic so we'll need to go on some easy training runs and I doubt he'll manage 30 mins non-stop! I don't mind - I'm just really pleased to get him away from Youtube and his Playstation!
Sounds like a great plan. It’s half term here next week too and I too have a 13 year old son obsessed with his PC! Off to NY on Thursday and planned a 5k run around Central Park. I’ll keep an eye out for your progress reports on here. X
Well done you!! And in this heat! My graduate run is tomorrow evening, with my daughter....so looking forward to it. Going to just cruise and enjoy the run and the scenery.
Biggest congratulations Ripcurl!! Awesome achievement. Has been great having you as a running buddy (albeit the cyber variety). You've done so well. Hope to join you in a couple of days but you enjoy your well earned celebration today and bring on chapter 2.
Aww thanks Lori! I’ll hang around on this podium for you until I’m kicked off! 😬 Let’s continue our buddying into chapter 2! Good luck with your upcoming runs. x
Remember how your breathing sounded, some say listening to the sound of your breathing and your feet is a sure way of knowing your pace has changed and therefore puts you in control of improved even pacing.
Well done you!! Impressed you did it running in the heat...it’s killing me. I’ve just started week 8 after being ill last week so hopefully be joining you in graduation soon😊👍🏻
Good to know. R3 of W6 to do on Friday. Unfortunately things are a bit full on right now & I can't get there as often as I'd like. Weird how you miss it when u don't go! Bet you feel a great sense of achievement now.
Awww thanks Sallenson!! Couldn’t have done it without all of you and the support on this fantastic forum. Now come on - waiting for your graduation!!! 🏃🏻♂️ 💪🏼 X
I've got a few chores to do and then W5R2 awaits. Gulp. Remember that? The thing that might have felt hard at the time but now feels like a gentle stroll? It's going to be a "dig deep" 30 minutes for me I think. I'll let you know!!
