Hi everyone, some of our graduate friends have been posting about their experiences so I thought Iโd do the same.๐
I started C25K in April 2018 and graduated in June 2018 along with many of our running buddies.๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ After that I took up Parkrun and Iโve been doing it regularly, as well as volunteering when I can. I consolidated for a couple of weeks then moved on to Bridge to 10K, graduating a week before my 55th birthday in August.๐๐
After that I started doing other events, including an 8K cross country run and a number of 10K runs. My longest run was the Croydon Half Marathon a couple of months ago.๐โโ๏ธ๐
I wouldnโt pretend it was easy, some runs were tougher than others but the support I got on here helped get me through everything๐ I found running particularly helpful when my dad sadly passed away last year. It helped me by giving me time to think things through and giving me space to consider how my life was going๐
Upcoming events are Regentโs Park 10K in August and Bournemouth Half Marathon in October๐ค
The best thing about running (for me at least) is the friendship, support and camaraderie from other runners. Weโre all running for our own reasons and at our own pace. No-one worries about what youโre doing, why youโre doing it or how long you run or how long it takes๐ Just get out there and do it! Oh, and keep posting on here when you need advice and help๐
Happy running everyone๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐
