I did my graduation run today and it was just glorious! The sun came out it was a perfect morning for running in every way.
I didnβt start off that well, struggled somewhat in the middle, had a glitch in the app but used my watch to keep track of the time and in the end went over the 30 mins just to be sure I donβt run under 30mins.
I donβt know what happened towards the end of the run but I felt I could keep going so in the end I ended up running approximately 35 mins and ran 5.2kms (just what I dreamed of before I started on this journey and never actually believing that I could do it!)
Now for what itβs worth to all those who are on this journey doubting them selves and having those days when it all seems really hard, donβt give up. Follow the advice of all the mentors and all the lovely people on this forum and as has been said numerous times βif I can do it then anyone canβ
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me. I really wouldnβt have carried on had it not been for the support. And thank you Michael Johnson for taking me through it and am gonna miss your comforting voice.
Looking forward to signing up for a park run now...
Love and happy running

Congratulations Vish! I'm delighted for you; all the hard work paid off and your distance is fantastic (I'm nowhere near 5km, but that's okay, for now).
Keep running and posting.
Love Lizz xxxx
That.Is fantastic. Apparently only 10% of people are actually running 5k when they complete the program, so kudos!
Kept your advice in mind and told my self to slow down. ( Iβm amazed that I need to slow down as everyone seems to overtake me when Iβm out in the park!)
I hope with time as I get fitter I will be truly able to enjoy the runs. π
You did run quite fast for a beginner lol You did the 5K!! If you think you run too slow, look at those runners overtaking you and look at their style... Very often, they run very badly (well, not all of them, I'm being cheeky), kicking the ground and all. And think about the risk of injury taken each time they kick the ground. And then think about your own "slow" running, relaxed and possibly graceful
I wanted my graduation run to be memorable so I guess I found the energy to go the extra distance today. Also I generally run on a very flat/level ground so that I suppose makes it easier for me. I donβt know how I would fare on hilly runs! βGracefulβ Iβm not but I like the idea of it and will accept that gratefully! π
