I was doing so well

So I was doing really well and got to W7 R2 and started to get pain in both legs. It felt like muscle and was at the side of my shins. I rested for 4 or 5 days and the pain come straight back. Since then I have rested another 2 weeks and started again a the beginning of week 6. Did the first run fine but since the 2nd run two days ago I have had this pain again. If this is muscular than I think it would be fine to carry on but I am worried that it could be shin splint.

Is it the muscle or the shinbone?

Feels like it’s the muscle close to this shin bone on the outer side of my legs. Almost feels like it’s behind my shins

Definitely have shin splint going to put the running on hold for the next month.
