was really pleased got up to w5r1...then disaster.....
No going over on my ankle, but the outside is painful and swollen. No bony injury, just a ligament pulled I guess (how did that happen???)....so out of the running for the time being..actually gutted as I was doing so well...
Any advice?

Get it checked by a professional, elevate, rest and ice it. I had a bad sprain and I massaged coconut oil into it everyday. Apparently the benefits of coconut oil are numerous (Google it). Don't run on it until it is completely better. It is frustrating but I hope you recover really soon😊
Perhaps see if it settles in the next few days, if not I would get it checked at the docs. They usually will advise how long you need to rest it too. Sprains can take awhile to heal.
Fully agree with other reply, (don't know about coconut oil if nothing else you will smell good). If it is ligament you need to speak to doc. But icing is the way to go.
If it persists or becomes very painful you would be well advised to see your GP. Check all the usual things - are you stretching well? Fitted with good shoes? Maybe doing some muscle strengthening exercises on your rest day?
Anyway, rest and ice called for! Hope you mend soon!
