Vlogging my way to 5K. This is Week 7. "The Toxic Twelve and a Half" where I consider how other people can do marathons and the problem with high heels before I manage to get lost in the woods.
Thanks for all the positive feedback to the vlogs. I still can't quite believe I'm managing to run for so long. This programme really works!
Hope you enjoy the video and remember - you can do it!!

I managed to find time to watch this today 😃. Sorry but it’s a bit difficult to watch lengthy blogs with so many post to read, always nice to respond where possible.
I just wondered if you have considered slowing a little to help with the longer runs? The toxic ten is just a widely used term, more an average time it takes folk to reach that comfortable stage. I consistently take twelve minutes to get there.
Thanks Millsie-J and apologies for the long video - I really shouldn't waffle so much. You're spot on, I've been taking it slow to start with and do slow down during the run if I'm starting to struggle.
It's interesting what you say about the toxic ten not necessarily being "10". It's definitely closer to 15 for me at the moment. I imagine I'll learn a bit more about how to cope with it all as I do more running - it's a steep learning curve as a novice.
Really enjoying it, though. Feel like I've made so much progress since struggling to do 60 seconds back in Week 1.
Well done on completing W7R1. My lack of calculating the number of metres in a marathon was my pathetic attempt at a joke - I wasn't really trying to add it up. I'll get my coat...
I wonder with that 42,000 metres if you do have any intention of running a full 26-mile marathon, no way will I ever do that, just perhaps a 10k at the most.
I'm just about managing 30 minutes at the moment. I'll be chuffed when I make 5,000 metres. It'll be a long time before I get beyond that. There's months ahead of consolidation for me!
Thank you for your reply, SaxPlayer, I will keep you informed about my progress, my next run which will be on Saturday will be run 2 of week 7, but that, of course, is the 3rd 25 minute run of what you call, 'the toxic 10' (I have not come across that term until now)
