Better than run 2 - where I gave up with 5mins left to run. A minute slower for the 5k than my Parkrun run 1 but running into a headwind on the way out and no other runners to spur me on so I think I can live with that!

Don't worry about the distance - last week I included my warm up and down walks and will do the same this week. Just run your run, see how far you get then walk the rest x
I wore shorts yesterday because I thought if I’m going to be out there running I am going to try and get some colour too. But it does depend on the weather . I was glad I wore a hat yesterday too. ☀️
I left my first park run till a few weeks after I graduated, so well done to you for steaming ahead now. Just be mindful to run your own race; the flow of the other runners at the beginning does cause most people to run faster at the start as they get swept up in the vortex.
Also, I would say that if you are a competitive sort, you may be unhappy with the runners who are faster than you. Just remeber they have been running for a while and you are just starting out.
Thank you for the advice. I actually did it last week for my Week 7 run 1 and walked the first 5 mins and the last 2 and a half - really mindful that I don't want to get injured. Fortunately not bothered about the other runners just getting on with competing against myself. I think the main problem this week will be running comfortably for the 28 mins rather than going for a PB
