Beautiful sunny morning as I got up for my run this morning, slightly later than usual. Not than keen on having to drive to run, but needs must! Car park was half full, no runners about but lots of dog walkers.
Really looking forward to this run! What has happened to me? Felt totally organised. Different music today - Beatles Love. πΆ. I really like the different mixes of those old familiar songs.
Michael on, and weβre off! Usual doubts for the first 5 minutes, but shout them down and settle into a good pace. All going well, Michael starts talking and itβs the halfway bell. My pace seems a bit fast, so I slow down a bit for the next few minutes, but I glance at my watch and it shows a good pace (for me!) so I try and increase slightly. I find the copse I like to end my run with, but I must be faster than last time, because I miss the entrance and Iβm running alongside it! At the end of the copse, Michael announces the last minute, so I speed up until the end, running in the opposite direction through the copse. Yessss! Iβm tired. I know that, because I put my hands on my hips π and force myself to keep walking! Run completed with no dramas!
Iβm exactly where I want to be on the 3rd run of the week. Confidently completing the run with an increase in pace (9:30). Still slow, yes - but another improvement for me. Week 8 - Iβm coming for you!

Thank you! Hip seems ok, but had an extra rest day again just to make sure. Itβs very odd driving to run, but I tried running round the village on the hard surface and my left shin started to ache. I didnβt want shin splints! No drama runs are exactly what we need now!
Make sure you do your stretches, it will help your hip!
Thanks! Improved pace yes, maybe slightly faster than a snail now π. Definitely addicted!
Yes, Beatles! Softer? Yes, maybe π. I like all types of music! It was pretty good to run to, although I didnβt get quite as lost in the music as I would with, say, Pink Floyd.
