Had a few days break as timing was all wrong over the past week. Work work work and lots of jobs to do blaaa blaaa blaaa. Really I just didn’t feel it but I was up and out this morning at 5:45 and wow that was hard. I say hard but I feel invigorated and ready to get back out there.
I’ve started running over the park field instead of the paths as I’m feeling the impact of the hard surface through my knee. Felt a little easier over the field but quite uneven.
Any tips as to what to do about knee pain???

I had knee pain too early on. Left and then,a week later, right! I took ibuprofen and especially an hour before runs (still ran but against advice!), also plenty iced 3 times a day for 20 mins and elevation when possible. Mine sorted themselves out after a week. Apparently it’s from weak thigh muscles. Be careful though 👍🏽
Knees do niggle, as do ankles sometimes, which is not surprising if you are new to running. That’s why this programme is so good as it leads you gently through the distances
As you get stronger- through slow running and rest days - your body will get stronger and you will lose the niggles.
Running on hard rutted earth is hard on the legs and feet so go easy 🙂
Hi Chris, well done! Personally nowadays I always wear knee supports. I tried jogging about a year ago but had to give up because of painful knees. Since using the knee supports I’ve been fine, I wouldn’t consider a run without them as I don’t want to jeopardise anything! Also I always make a point of doing stretching exercises for about five minutes afterwards. Good luck with the next run!
