Look what I’ve got....

I love these virtual runs...so I signed up for another one...my other one was a poppy run but this one was for Hometruths a charity that provides specialist services for people over the age of 16 who is or have experienced domestic violence & abuse at home...i suppose I could just put some money in an envelope & send it off but why, when I can do something that I love & help people a little bit at the same time? Watch this space for more bling!!! Happy running my lovely family...I’m just waiting for the sun to go down then I’ll be out & about, no doubt thinking about the domestic violence my Mum suffered before she & my ‘Dad’ split when I was 9...I couldn’t help then but I feel like I’ve done a little bit for others xxx

Congratulations on completing the run, and doing it for a cause that means so much to you! Nice bling... a wine stopper! What a great idea. :)

Nice medal 🥇 What is a virtual run & how does it work? Sounds like a great thing to do and perhaps something that more of us could get involved with??

You sign online...many of us do these run and uou choose the charity you wish to support

e.g.

virtualrunneruk.com/join-a-...

You then run the run.. in the time frame,or on a certain day..but , where you choose to run and at your own pace:)

Great if you cannot get to actual runs or prefer solo running... I have done seven so far :)

May of us did the runs for Poppy Day and International Women's Day..

What a fantastic idea, virtual running. All the fun of a race, with none of the social stresses for those of us who, like me, struggle with real actual people sometimes. I shall definitely be signing up for one of those soon :)

They are brilliant.. and when a few of us on the forum are doing the same one..we agree what day or time etc...and it is really as if you are all together 😉

Thank you, Likewise! Let me know if you fancy a virtual run, and I’ll join you if I possibly can x

Yes that's right, you must try it. I did the Virtual National Womens Day run/walk etc and the medal is truly fab. You need to submit your results at the end of that month. I've signed up for June's next, lol.

Wow, well done you, and what a fantastic cause. I am recently divorced unfortunately, and I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if we had been violent to each other, the kids have been through enough already. So - really great that you did something positive, proud of you! Now, time to put that wine stopper to good use? :D

Thanks Neil.. a childhood lasts a lifetime...& some things cannot be erased...my Mum would be proud of me for running alone never mind doing it for charity!!

Yes, it is a nice bottle stopper but unfortunately there’s never anything left in a bottle to save!!! Ha ha 😂😂😂 (hic)

Ah well done there Bev. I've done a few of these and have a few medals for the fun of it. They're good fun and great for encouraging you to run. It's great to know the money goes to something worth while too.

Aww, that's sad re your mum and dad and for what you had to endure 😘 xxx

Thanks Beth...it is sad but hey, our life experiences make us who we are...I sometimes wish my Dad were alive so I could have a word with him about his behaviour!! My Mum was beautiful...a real angel, so caring, loving & kind to everyone...if i am half the woman she was then I am happy with that xxx we should do a virtual run together Beth xxx
