Oh yes gout is very painful! Do you know what is causing it and are getting treatment? My daughter suffered terribly when at uni, due to other health issues but very debilitating! Hope you get it sorted soon.

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Some replies to the poster’s previous post on the subject maybe helpful.

I am not a medic, but I wanted to reassure you if that is medically possible for this condition, in my experience.Only management in the worst case.

I suffered with puesdo Gout, that is joint pain throughout all of my joints in the body, but without the swelling, hence the description puesdo.

No treatment only pain killers.Full strength, daily doses, 8 Tramadol , 8 paracetamol and max Naproxene.Every episode had to be hit with this horrendous pain relief medication and generally rendered me immobile for 2-3 days.Just completely seized and could not move.

As soon as I was able with pain relief just had to move.Inactivity for my situation was worse.

This problem actually was picked up by an Nuerologist during MRI and CT scans for a Trigeminal Nueralgia in my face.He organised X rays on all my joints to confirm the existence of what he noticed in my C1 & C2 spine. This was responsible for the loss of feeling in my face.

Related to arthritis family.

Never abused alcohol ever or any other no go areas.

Four years ago in my seventies stepped up my activity shed weight and this year started the C25k,no episodes and no pretty dangerous medication.

Only movement everyday, a day off for me is just less vigorous movement. In fact I avoid inactivity, because of the memory of these episodes.

I do hope younger people do not experience the severity of this condition and quickly learn to manage it , but I am pleased to have parked it somewhere.

Sorry for this very long reply, and we are all different, but sincerely trying to possibly reassure.

Hope your daughter’s situation and the poster’s situation resolve itself soon.

Sincerely with kind regards.

Thank you for your reply tbae. In my daughters case it was all related to failing kidneys and associated meds. Her experienced nephrologist handled the issue very well.

My daughter had a successful kidney transplant in Oct 2016 and is thankfully currently back to good health.

I am so very pleased to hear that and such a relief for you.

Take good care of you and your family and the C25k forum family as you always do.🌟🏃‍♀️👏👏

My kidney disease was found when I was 20. Fortunately the deterioration is slow! Best wishes to your daughter!

She was 10 when diagnosed, 28 when she had the transplant. She is a diificult match but my hubby was found to be a perfect match.....not me as she took his rare blood group not my more common one! Just before the planned live donation my wonderful hubby was found to have cancer......so not able to donate after all.

Twelve months later, when she was really really poorly, a very special true friend came forward with the same rare blood group! So a live donor transplant went ahead. The rest is history. We are blessed!

There is always hope my friends xxxx

Wow that is incredible. Three years ago I was diagnosed with a blood disorder which could require a bone marrow transplant. My brother offered immediately. Unbelievable generosity!!!

I have kidney disease so that means lack of filtering! Never touch alcohol. Dr has given me steroids today and pain has localised. Hopefully on the mend but def more rest needed. Feels like toe is going to snap!!!!

Sorry to hear you’re still in the wars. I asked a question some time ago about how long it takes to lose what you e built up so far. The answer from one of the mentors - Ian - was two weeks.Hope you soon feel better 🤞🏻
