Good luck! You'll smash it. Daunting at the start but once you get into it, it's not so bad. Make sure you set yourself up to succeed. Tech, music, gear and set off when you're feeling confident and the weather is mild. Any failure of the basics can knock you off your game and W5R3 is not the time! I'm constantly having GPS fails or the app itself, but I've stopped caring and try to adapt quickly. Refuse to have my run spoiled. Will look out for your post on Tuesday x

Nice one! You’ll be fine! Great advice from Sutsha. Slow and steady, maybe even a little slower and steadier than usual for the first 10 mins at least and keep a bit in the tank for the final 5. Remember your workout today was actually longer in total time so you have totally got this. Good luck!

It has a reputation, but it is just another workout and actually shorter than the last one, so relax, take your time and enjoy it.

Practice grinning..........

Hi Lola,

Yes, same advice as from the others. Dont go too fast, don't worry about going too slow, don't feel like you should be exhausted by the end.

You have been learning how to set your pace, this is when it pays off.

Getting there is such an achievement, but you'll feel like you could do it all again the next day.

I agree with Rob W73. I completed W5R3 today and I'm itching to get out again tomorrow. The first week I was pleading with Sarah Millican to announce 60 seconds but today 20 mins just flew by.... Find your comfortable pace and keep going, it's amazing how the weeks leading up to this will have prepared you. Good luck, you got this!

Rn3 was my favourite run to date, mainly because I was dreading it so much, by the time I got half way I knew I would make it and was totally elated. As everyone says, slow and slower is the key.

I’ve just done W5R2 and I’m absolutely terrified of R3 tbh! I did ok with R2 but moving from 8 to 20 is very scary, to the extend that I’m thinking of doing R2 again first! I just can’t imagine being able to run 20 mins straight. Good to hear from others it can be done but I’m not feeling very confident.

I felt the same and all the people who had done it just added to my fear that I would fail. I felt it useful to break it up into quarters. Keep reminding yourself that the first half is the hardest and you've already done that with your previous runs so you know you can get through the hardest bit. I found the 3rd quarter the easiest as you get into a rhthym and your body adjusts to the lack of oxygen and starts to help you and then you just have to keep going for the final 5 which you'll do - just keep reminding yourself you're nearly finished! Good luck. You'll feel great when youve done it (but maybe a bit knackered) 😂 Don't do run 2 again just go with the program.

Thank you. I’m so nervous about 20 mins. I’m not very good with failure!! I’ll see how I feel on Wednesday I think as to whether I can go for it or feel the need to repeat!!

I'm doing it after work today 😱😱. Am actually going to drive somewhere flat to give myself the best chance. So many hills where I live! Weirdly looking forward to it after everyone saying it is actually possible. 🤞

Take yourself back to the beginning. Week 1 Run 1. If you were anything like us, that minute run nearly killed us and doing it eight times in one session? We were knackered! But look where you are now. You did 15 minutes on the first week 5 session, 16 minutes on the second. How likely was that back at the beginning? You WILL smash it! Slow and steady, get into your rhythm and go.. Looking forward to you Tuesday post.

Hi Lola. Am in exactly the same place!! Did my w5 number 2 yesterday so doing the 20 minutes one tomorrow. Am doing mine about 5pm. Will look out for your feed. Keep going! Have created an hour's long running mix which keeps a steady 120 BPM and that really helps. Good luck for tomorrow

I just did it...and it was fine! Such a buzz when I finished. I may be buzzing all night! You'll be fine. Just take it slowly. It helped me to break it down into 5 mins in my head. At half way you have just done slightly more than the last run. Then somehow your body just keeps going and you realise it's all totally in your head and you CAN do it 🙂
