So after pondering whether or not to run today (I normally like 2 or 3 rest days) I decided to go for it as I'd got that 'restless' feeling.
I plodded very slowly and listened to a podcast on murders which was far more distracting than my normal music!
I'm doing a sponsored 5k on Sunday so didn't want to be too tired for that so my next and final run will be on Sunday at the event and all being well (and with a fair wind) I hope to graduate!

Super, you’re only 1 step away now. What was the podcast, I love listening to those type of ones, they’re a great distraction? You’ll be fine on Sunday, I usually run Monday, Wednesday & Friday so only 1 days rest and it works out ok.
Well done SuperMouse 🙌🙌 Best of luck with your sponsored run on Sunday! What is it for? I'd love to sponsor you if you can send me a link 😊 I think we will be graduating in synch 😊 Pass me the baton 🤗🤗🙌🎉⭐️
Yes I thought it might be 😊 I'm booked onto the July R4L here - I do it every year in memory of my Dad, but will actually be running it this year for the first time in 10 years!! 😬😬 Its a great cause, well done you! Oh my, it will be emotional for you, and a day you won't forget for sure 😊 I'm planning on Sunday for R3 as well (all going well, hip pending!) Yes please do send me your link and happy rest days! X
Fantastic Supermouse, and it will be a brilliant way to finish. I hope it goes really well for you on Sunday and you really nail that 5k! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🎉
Just home from it Jb33 . Will have to do my graduation run in a few days as had a few 'issues'.
So, after deciding to do my last run after only 1 rest day I have had knee pain and swelling since (had a knee brace on for a couple of days to try and help it). I think I just did too much too soon.
Got caught up in traffic today just trying to get to the venue and only just made it before the start so didn't have time for the loo and didn't do a proper warm up either!
I also struggled with my pace as tried to go slow but then got over excited and went too fast and at other times was forced to walk as got caught in a human jam which completely put my pace out.
Music stopped on my phone and so did the 5K app with Laura too.
I then fell into a water filled pothole which was a lot deeper than I had anticipated (as can't wear glasses when jogging so can't see so good).
My running buddy was bouncing along like a gazelle as fresh as a daisy even at the end (but she is only 25) I'm 51 in a few days!
So disappointed that I had to do lots of power walking mixed in with the running as had really wanted to run all the way but completely out of my comfort zone of running round people etc etc. Got a time of 41 minutes so not too bad but will try harder next time.
I will have to put it down as a practice jog and will give my self a few days rest to see how knee goes and then go again for graduation!
I have raised (and have been promised) over £500 for Cancer Research so for that I am very pleased.!
Well done, you listened to your body and it wasn’t your fault you got caught in a people jam. I know what you mean about being out of your comfort zone around people, I’m the same I feel more comfortable running on my own. Patkruns will probably help us get used to that. 41 minutes is good, it’s faster than my 5k run, lol.😂. Don’t be disappointed at the end of the day you raised £500 for a cause close to our hearts. Few days rest for that knee then off you go on your own for the last run before graduation. Well done supermouse x
Just a bit sad as I so wanted to jog the whole things I am very competitive (with myself and feel I failed) but it just wasn't going to happen for me today. Think I built it up too much in my head as well
But very happy to have been able to put something back for people like us.
There will be another day I will just have to be patient and this is the first run since doing Couch to 5k that I have not been able to do.
