Guess what???....

Guess what I’ve just done? Only gone and completed run three week five; the bloody awful twenty minute run. I got to13 mins and did have to slow my pace from 7kmph on treadmill to 6.2kmph. I’m only short so still a fair jog and it wasn’t walking which I guess is the main thing.

I have to admit though I found it pretty gruelling and didn’t enjoy it. But it’s done so onto week six.

Well done! Everyone says this (because it’s true) - week 6 is trickier than it looks. Enjoy the next one.

Same here! Literally half an hour ago I finished.

I agree I expected some sort of incredible elation at the end as some people had, but I mostly felt exhausted.

However look how fast you recover now! During week 1 I was sore for 2 days and walking was effort!

About finding it gruelling, I agree. I think it's because a small part of us expects to find running 'easy' at some point, as it may have done on R3 of earlier weeks. But remember it's meant to escalate and push you out of your comfort zone. Jo Wiley said to me in one of the previous weeks during the last run 'this is where your fitness really improves'.

And from W6R3 all through week 7 there are 4 runs the same length. Then we will get back our feeling of 'easier'.

Well done again!

Very well done.

You are doing great.👍

Think about starting slower, if on the treadmill, 6.5 km/ hr 🤔 for week 6.1 and 6.2 with the walking break and review again for your 6.3 Run.🤔

Go slower and you will enjoy it.🤔👏👏

Pace is irrelevant at present, you are building your running legs, lungs stamina and running brain. That is all that is important.

You will soon be into the continuous runs and go slow and steady and slower if required.

No fear only enjoyment.👏👏🌟🏃‍♀️

Thanks for the tip. I’ve done all the other runs at 7kmph but just couldn’t do all twenty mins at that pace today

You have done well to maintain

7kmph or 9 minutes per km upto this point in the programme.Do you have the treadmill on an incline, one degree also.🤔

So slow down to your sustainable comfortable pace for all these lovely continuous runs from 6.3 onwards.

Your confidence and enjoyment will just take over.

Believe in the programme and believe in you.💫🏃‍♀️💫
