Bit damp underfoot, dry overhead and lucky, lucky me, very little wind that is until I hit the seafront for the last 5 mins.
Was a bit over excited and set off too quickly ๐ had to work really hard to slow myself down - after all, I didnโt want to fall at the last fence.
The faster start and effort in trying to slow down meant it took me quite a time to settle but was going OK at the halfway mark ๐
In all honesty I found this the hardest of the week because of the above and the added pressure that I must, I must finish.
Playlist was perfect for the occasion and I had โAll about youโ ringing in my ears on the home straight and yes - this journey has been all about me. Iโm bursting with pride- Iโve finished something I started and I do believe I may have caught the running bug.๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
I canโt thank you all enough for cheering me on - your words of encouragement and support have meant everything.โค๏ธ I know of at least 6 others graduating today - look forward to reading your posts.
For you folks that like stats ... Iโm 61, now 3st overweight (lost 7lbs), not run since school days and averaged 3.5k in W9 runs.
Cheeky red wine celebration tonight ๐ท๐ท๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
PS does anyone else listen to music while running that they wouldnโt usually listen to ?๐ผ

There are some people who do listen to music which helps them to RUN that they don't listen to at any other time.
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 9 and graduating from C25K ๐ ๐๐พ ๐
To get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE ๐ next to your username leave a message in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked July C25K graduation home page and tell the administrators that you have ran W9R3 of C25K and graduated ๐ ๐๐พ
Now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement with cheeky Red ๐ท Wine tonight ๐๐๐๐พ
Thank you so much AlMorr. Relief about the music - Iโm more Bowie/Clapton person - who knew McFly would get me over the line ๐๐ค - canโt wait to start consolidation on Monday
I would never listen to One Direction but my daughter put it on a playlist and itโs great to run to. My music is usually the kind to fall asleep to ๐โโ๏ธ๐๐
Oh, well done to you, fellow graduate! It really is an amazing achievement for us over 60s ๐. Who would have thought it? Enjoy your graduation day, youโve earned it by the sweat on your brow ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐พ
Thanks Jools. 60 is the new 50 ? Iโll look for you post - well done to you too Hope you celebrate your great achievement ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐๐๐พ๐พ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Congratulations, so happy for you! The sense of achievement when you finish truly is wonderful because you know it was all you and nobody else. Bloody well done and enjoy the wine later, you've earned it
Congratulations, congratulations, congratulations, you did it. It is fantastic when you graduate, such an euphoric feeling. Enjoy that red wine tonight, you most definitely earned it. Well done xx
Congratulations on your graduation. Doesnโt it feel amazing! Celebrating with red wine is a great idea...I may have to do the same! Consolidation starts for me on Monday too! Enjoy the wine!
Snap - congrats to you too. Celebrate today. 2 days rest. Monday we start on the new consolidation adventure - cheers ๐ทhereโs to us and everyone else who graduated this week
Well done you๐ฅณ๐ทmy stats are similar to yours only i am a tiny bit younger.
School running was torture for me and music is what is making the difference to me. I am channeling my inner rock chick๐70โs and 80โs rock works every time๐คช
be proud of your achievement and enjoy the wine ๐ท you deserve it x
Thank you. I spend longer working out my playlist than running - even in W9 ๐คฃ Just got to have the right tracks. Not particularly concerned with distance at the moment although I appreciate others are. Just pleased to be out there and doing it
What a fab post!..... Graduating to one of McFly's finest I might add!..
I hope you're still smiling!.. that smile should last for days!...
What an achievement!..... and averaging 3.5k on the W9 runs is a healthy run!....
Have the best weekend ever and welcome to the Consolidations!.... We are doing it for the more mature ladies out there!...
This forum is just the best isn't it!.. I definitely could not have done it without this lovely lot on here!...
In answer to your Q about the music!.. YES! I have some shockers and they normally appear on my cool down walks as i pass people thinking...'I hope they can't hear that!'....cringe
Well done lovely!... so well deserved! I'm chuffed for you!
You are such a sweetie for keeping up with everyoneโs progress - thanks for your message - means a lot. โค๏ธ
Red Wine Friday ๐ท๐ทdone now so calming down
Every now and then I re- visit the app just to make sure I didnโt imagine it - such a child ๐
Isnโt funny about the music that motivates? I really wouldnโt want to โownโ some Iโve had over the last 9 weeks but boy they did the trick. Need to devise next play list for C1 on Monday... Must feature โwhen the going gets toughโ I think. Iโm in for the long haul now ๐คฃ
Firstly a massive well done and now onwards and upwards with no pressure.
Song wise I have mainly 90s but some newer and older. Dire Straits. Oasis. Travis. Sigrid. The Charletons. Cher. Avicii. A whole mix as you can see and none of the fast paced "music" people try to sell you. Listen to what YOU like.
Thank you. Iโve included Dire Straits and Travis but it seems all the cheesier ones are the right beat for my pace ? Think Iโll do more research on beats per minute and music ๐ค
Now starting a new quest for a โdecentโplaylist ๐คฃ
Ah Iโm so pleased for you, many congratulations! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ช๐ป๐I hope youโre still riding that wave of achievement today. ๐๐ฅณ
I had some absolute bangers on my playlist and some absolute cringe but I loved it! Funnily enough since graduation I have changed to podcasts, something I thought I would never do as I love my music, but I actually prefer it now. Funny old thing, this running!
You are brilliant. Well done on graduating and your speed was good. Nice to know your age, hubby keeps telling me to stop comparing myself to someone who runs fast as he says I have no idea how old they are. I am 57 and 1stone overweight. Struggling with the weight loss as I am greedy ๐ท, just love those snacks.
Music , keep playing random stuff and sometimes I think I run faster to see if I can get away from it ๐. Do need to find a decent playlist.
Hope you enjoyed your red wine and I will look for your first consolidation run, enjoy it.
I am just about to finish my run today! Well done, I have also found the last week the hardest, and the only way I can run is listening to music from my daughters spotify, "running music for 5K"!! lots of really bad music, but some of the words get through the worst. I have loaded an app for the first time that tells me how far I am going and how slowly. I am the same as you, have not run since school xc days, but swim 5 days a week. I just needed something new.
Any way well done and good luck with the next stage.
Hi, This sounds like me, im 63 terrified at the thought of running as when tried a few steps running in past out of breath. I aim to start on Monday, need all encouragement I can give myself. Well done you.
I know that feeling of fear but please donโt let that be the reason not to start this.
If youโre like me, more than half the battle is in your head changing โcanโtโ to โcanโ. Iโve become quite an expert of super slow jogging ๐คฃ๐ remember itโs not a race.
Glad you found this forum - I didnโt till Iโd already started. Believe me it is exactly the right place to be ... let people know how youโre getting on or if you have any questions. Everyone here is full of encouragement ๐
All the best for Monday ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
