Disaster with this mornings run. I stopped after 11 minutes, didn’t feel it at all. I’ve been comparing myself, overthinking & getting annoyed about my super slow pace (5km in 49mins, I can walk as quick)& so started off far too fast & look what’s happened. Feel well gutted, I’m raging with myself. So I’m going home to have breakfast then I’ll try again later this afternoon. I really am so cross with myself. Rant over😡
Update: I went out and did 30mins this afternoon I did walk for a minute at 23 mins in due to the sun & heat but carried on and I completed it. Thanks everyone for advice & support.🙂

I too can walk as fast as I run. I take it really slowly. That way, I avoid injury and actually make it to the end of the run. Hare and Tortoise. Let this failure be your motivator for next time. Slow but sure wins the race.
Jb33 I know the feeling. I keep comparing my pace to everyone else as I am super slow but Ive had to stop it otherwise I would just give up so I just concentrate on completing each run and believe that over time my speed with gradually increase. Don't feel cross with yourself just feel determined and over time your pace will increase.
I too can walk faster than I jog and I worry about my slow speed but I also think that if I try and go faster the same thing will happen to me too.
Just to be able to jog and to jog for 30 mins (my goal and you can do more than that) is a huge achievement for both of us considering what our bodies have been through.
Put a smile on your face and be proud of yourself!
We're in this for the long-run (oops, pun not really intended, but hey, it works🙃) not just for the immediate goals. I find I need extra rest days as runs get longer. Keep on keeping on at your pace 👍🏻 With best wishes from a fellow 🐢 x
Please don’t get caught up in times I was the same for awhile. Then I was given advice to run further which I now do this builds up the running legs gradually then the speed does come naturally. I’m talking like a runner now only graduated in March but managing 10k now. Yes slow and steady is the motto x
