Treadmill runners?

Hi this is my first time on here. I have just completed w3r2. I am doing the whole course on a treadmill and am interested to know if anyone else does this and how they find it. I think the program is designed well as like most others at the start of wk 1 i look at what wk 3 entails and think i cant possibly do it but i am doing it now and it is ok. I still cant imagine being able to run for a whole 30 mins but thats a way off yet so hopefully my body will be prepated for it by then. Any treadmill c25k folks please get in touch.

Hello Gforce1965 , I am a treadmill runner too! Bought it second hand 3 weeks ago off eBay with the intention of walking every day to get fitter, then accidentally stumbled across the C25K app and haven't looked back! As I am 4 stone overweight as well as unfit all my runs so far have been on the flat (just done W3R1 tonight)... I figure that when I finish the programme I will start adding inclines at that point to prepare me for a parkrun late June (Outside! Where people might see me! Eeeeek!) Loving the programme, loving my treadmill! Keep up the good work 👏😃👏

I've just joined and and am at exactly the same place, Im struggling with running for the 3 minutes so have no idea how 30 mins will feel like. I have been told, several times, that take it easy, repeat weeks if need be and it just gets a bit easier at a time. I'm going to go back and do week 2 again. It doesn't help that I am overweight and had knee surgery 18 months ago but I determined to do this and move onto a park run. Keep it up

I mostly do it on the treadmill. One more run to go and I’ll graduate for the second time...just stopped fitting runs in before but this time plan to keep going and build up speed/duration either on the treadmill or outside. Trust the programme and you’ll get there. If I can, so can you!

I’m also a “treadmill only” runner so far - did w4r1 this morning. Plan to venture outside in a few weeks when I can be running a lot more than I am walking!

Thats great im so glad there are plenty others using the treadmill. I thought i would complete it on there and then attempt the outdoors. Just dont have the confidence to do it at the moment, to many wobbly bits, but hoping they will not be so bad by week 9.

I prefer the treadmill too. I tried running outside but got frustrated (people & dog walkers but that's another story!). I've just finished W3 & about to start W4 tomorrow. Like you - I still can't imagine running for 30 mins. Even though I was a keen runner a year ago but had to give up for a while I've never run for 30mins straight in my life. Everyone tells me the programme really works & it has so far!

I did C25K a couple of years ago and then started going to parkrun but have recently bought a treadmill as they uneven pavement surface where I run really made my knees hurt and I was worried about damage. The parkrun surface is fine and doesn't cause any issues. I think I'm keeping up the cardio benefits but circumventing the wear and tear by using the treadmill between parkruns
