Respect to treadmill runners

Hats off to you guys. I’ve never been a treadmill runner, preferring to run outside, but I’m on holiday in India with nowhere suitable to run outside. So, I braved the gym and the treadmill. Soooo hard! It felt much harder on my body and as if I was getting nowhere! And when it stops - oh boy, that’s just weird! Like motion sickness. I’ve really got little choice but to try again if I want to keep my running fitness whilst away but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to keep going. I do however have a new found respect for those of you who do this type of running. 👍

Hi Suesky! Well done on still getting your run in whilst travelling. Next time, pay attention to your posture as a lot of people slope forward too much or even hunch and look down. Might help a bit, even with the motion sickness after? Good luck and happy running.

Tx for this; I think I was sloping forward, it’s such a different feeling on the treadmill. I’ll work on that and see how it goes. 👍

Sue - if you are in Calcutta, PLEEEESE have a Mango Lassi for me at the Curd Shop just around the corner from Blue Sky' on Sudder street :) And if you could take a photo of it...I will clean your running shoes for you for a year :)

Know what you mean about the Treadmill - had to do a wee bit in Physio. Its definitely not for me :)

Wow, that almost makes me wish I could do that; we’re somewhere much quieter, relaxing in Southern Goa. 😜

That's a good place also. Wonder if Vagator beach is as crazy as in 85 :)

Sue, I can't believe you can't run outside in Goa? No beaches? But all my admiration for your determination to keep fit and running on a treadmill! I hope you'll find a way to get used to it ;-) Enjoy India, Lucky you!

The beach is lovely and stretches for miles but I honestly don’t think I could run any real distance on the beach esp in the heat and without a running buddy. A nice thought though. I hate the treadmill 😩

How hot is it? I have no idea what the climate is like at this time of the year. Perhaps very early in the morning? It's snowing (at last!!) over here in Northern France. And I managed to go for a 35 mns run and loved it. Will post in a little bit. Enjoy Goa and be careful on the "dreadmill" as some call it ;-)

Ooo India lucky you! I get the pukes when I stop too... mind you mine is a cheapo dreadmill I used it today and never again... it’s off to the knackers yard. You might get used to it. I find going a bit slower helps. Enjoy your holiday 🙂
