Welcome to the last few days of the April, What is your Week?
Well..it feels a tad chilly here... as we slip ( not on the ice I hope) out of April into May.
But... the runs are there, waiting, come rain or shine.. or even snow, as some of our friends up North will confirm We will be out there and we will be running
The idea of, "What is your Week" ?
Every week we are going to put up a post, so you can add in a little post underneath, to say what week you are planning to do this week.
Sample post (feel free to put as much or as little as you like):
“Hi, I'm Oldfloss, and this week, I am doing the dreaded, week 5 run 3... help!, any tips guys? ”
We are growing so much at the moment and we wanted to have a little fun post ,so we can see who is on what week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.
Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.
At the end of the month there will be a Certificate for you to download and keep; just a little memento of the fact you have completed a whole month of the program. Another full month of running for you.
If you have just graduated, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum as well, for Graduates.
I will add all the names from this week under this post. Every week for the month of April, the names will roll over into another post.
Let's get a good list going so we can support each other.
(Come on you lurkers, you can do it as well. ?)

Hiya, I'm about to conquer Week 2 Run 2 tomorrow. Been here once before as I made it to the end of week 8 last November but unfortunately had to stop because of injury.
Missed running so much and so after a 5 month break, I'm back. Started back at the beginning to be safe & all is well so far.
I’m on to week 6 this week, and hoping to get out on a trail for the first time if the snow has finally melted - we shockingly got more yesterday so it’s quite a late melt this year! Feeling like I can handle whatever’s to come after a week 5 that started poorly but ended on a high note.
I’m doing W7R2 on Tuesday. I did W7R1 today as the weather looks like it’s going to be terrible here for the next 24 hours ☔️☔️ I really enjoyed the run and my other half and children were walking the dogs while I ran round and they all looked quite stunned that I just kept going and going 🤣🤣
On Monday evening I’m “finishing for Matt” and run/walking 3.7miles with my running group. 30min run with a friend on Thursday and I would really love to give Park Run a go on Saturday 😬
Thanks Oldfloss 😊 I’ve wanted to give Park Run a go for a while but I’ve been worrying I’ll finish last and all the volunteers would be hanging around waiting for me to finish 😳 I know I’m just overthinking it and just need to go along and enjoy it 🤞😁
Next one is week 6 run 2, but after a lucky spell of being able to run 3 times a week I'll be back to twice! Hopefully get to the end of week 6 by the end of next week! Happy running...and week...all. 👍👍👍
My next run will be week 7 run 2. The 25-minuters have nearly beaten me and left me with niggles that have taken an extra rest day to sort. Kind of glad I have to do them 4 times over before I have a shot at even longer x
W4R2 tomorrow. Had three days ‘rest’ this weekend as been away with the family. Not sure rest sums it up as yesterday we went cycling with two kids in a trailer behind me- not sure the legs are ready for a run tomorrow so definitely very slow and very very steady.
Slow is fine,,, well done you... a warm up is always useful
I’m doing week 7 this week. I did 25 minutes today so I’m wondering what I’ll be doing for the next 3 weeks ?? I suppose I could have a sneaky look forward but I’d prefer to be surprised. Had an Epsom salts bath tonight. Nice 👍
Hi there! My name's Nene and I ran the second run of week 7 today.
Overall it's going well, just get a nerve pinched or something in the last few minutes of my runs so my right leg goes a little numb, but I'm working on defeating that with some thigh and hip stretches. Aside from that, I feel more confident in my running now than I have felt before, so that feels super nice.
Hello!! This is a bit scary, I’m starting Week 9. Hopefully tomorrow morning if I can get up and I feel up to it. I’m then going to the gym to iron the lumps and bumps out a bit. I’ve had my gait analysed at a nearby running shop and they were briliant, saying the shoes I had were ideal for me as I was neutral. So, lets see how it goes. Hopefully I can graduate this week but I must try to stay calm and steady - don’t want to muck this up 🤞😁🤞
Can I call it my Week 11 run 1 tomorrow? I think I need the discipline still of my 3 runs a week and start park runs to keep motivation. Maybe the next bridge to 10. Hope for a good week for everyone👣
Hi I’m Jill and I have just done Week 6 run 1 and actually found it really enjoyable and fun! Think I have caught the bug. Such a great programme preparing us all for the next run. 🏃♀️And of course great support on here.
Just slow yourself down at the start and keep slowing yourself down throughout. That’s how to cope. You’ll be fine- you’ll find the legs just keep going and the breathing is fine too! But keep slowing down. To complete it, I slowed down more than previous runs.
W7R1 on Wednesday. Actually looking forward to it which is a bit of a surprise! Hardest thing is fitting in runs around work and childcare. Just about managing to squeeze it all in as I really want to complete this before June. I was a bit blasé about finishing it to begin with, as I never thought I’d actually get bitten by the running bug. How wrong can you be?!
Hi 😊 I did w7 r2 yesterday and am doing r3 tomorrow. I'm also planning on going to my second parkrun this weekend and I signed up for race for life in june.
I can't quite believe I'm only 2 weeks away from graduating 😱 seems a bit surreal.
so after a massive wobble of “no way can I run 5 minutes 😬” I actually got off my backside after much encouragement from my boy and 🎉yeay we did it week 4 run 1😊. I am actually really surprised that I found it ok - I feel like I have found a bit of a rhythm with my jogging , very very slow but not uncomfortable. The only issue I had was one of my neighbours laughing at me when I was in a walking bit and saying “shouldn’t you be running”. My son instantly got my spirits up saying “you are training with me not her mum - you are doing amazing” 🤗that gave me a nice boost and we did it. so I am very happy right now 😊😊
