Hellooooo everybody and welcome to the third week of What is your week?
So as the days get longer ( oh I love the daylight hours) lets make the most of it
Hasnt it been so hot lately. I like to run early in the morning and its been really lovely lately.... I had a wonderful weekend in Cornwall at my mums at the weekend and ran a HM with my baby sister... was just bliss The pic is me next to the beautiful Cornish coastline.
The idea of, "What is your Week" ?
Every week I am going to put up a post, so you can add in a little post underneath, to say what week you are planning to do this week.
Sample post (feel free to put as much or as little as you like):
“Hi, I'm Ju-Ju, and this week, I am doing the dreaded, week 5 run 3... help!, any tips guys? ”
We are growing so much at the moment and we wanted to have a little fun post ,so we can see who is on what week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.
Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.
At the end of the month there will be a Certificate for you to download and keep; just a little memento of the fact you have completed a whole month of the program. Another full month of running for you.
If you have just graduated, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum as well, for Graduates.
I will add all the names from this week under this post. Every week for the month of April, the names will roll over into another post.
Let's get a good list going so we can support each other.
(Come on you lurkers, you can do it as well. ?)
Happy Panthering,
Ju-Ju

Hi ju-ju. One week today I’ll be off to New York!! 2 more runs with graduation being Monday. My plan is to go for a run in Central Park. Now that’s NOT something I planned when I booked this holiday! 😎
Hello! Finishing week 7 tomorrow- still can't believe I can run for 25 mins...! It's my birthday Saturday so having the weekend off! Looking forward to trying out my lovely new running trainers!
I just attempted my first run. Oh dear! I couldn't finish it. I managed to do 6 one minute runs thenot walked for the rest of the time.😕 Really annoyed with myself. I used to run for miles. Didn't realise how bad my fitness had got! Oh well. I'll finish it next time.💪💪💪
Well I never would have thought when I was struggling in week one that I would actually be looking forward to running for a total of 16 minutes! This week I have done Week 4 runs 1 and 2 and I will be running run 3 tomorrow.
Hi, my next run will be week 9, run 3 which I am planning for Saturday. I am hoping not to lose motivation to go out running once I graduate from c25k so will defo be checking out the c25k+ podcasts x
Yay that’s so exciting. I will think of you on my run tomorrow...
Don't you look amazing Ju-ju-! And the view...lucky lady. Our run through the village is mostly houses and is along the roadside so noisy, speedy cars whooshing by. We did W6R2 tonight and it went better than expected. Lack of sleep and food! Picked up the pace for the last minute when Sarah announced we had just 60 seconds left. 🏃♀️💨🏃♂️💨 If you've anything left in the tank I'd highly recommend it - the endorphins really kick in when your feet are flying. Just be careful not to invite injury by overdoing it. Loving the forum and chatting to other runners about their week and running-related trivia. My friends/family are getting a bit tired of hearing about it 🤣 Looking forward to my next run already which is planned for the weekend.
Well done.... since I started running I’ve bored the socks off my family, friends and my work colleagues... that was 5 years ago and I am still just as bad!!!
Out for wk7 r2 tomorrow back on my usual time and route, after lunch round a flat lake path. Decided to try wk7 r1 after work, which meant sticking to main well lit roads and a 03:30 start. 😬 I’ve lived round here 41 years and I never knew there was a hill out there till I had to run up it. Oh, and I’ve signed up for a 10k run 😳
Hi. I’ve started running with my 10 year old daughter as she wanted to run- but only if I did it with her. We’ve done W2R2 today, but I’m finding it hard to keep her motivated now. When the sun is out and I have a 30 minute window of time, I’m now actually looking forward to getting out, but she needs a lot of persuasion and procrastinates so much! For her the idea of going out for a run is better than the reality of doing it I think!
I started this with my 10 year old daughter as well but she soon lost interest so I took it on solo - she did wave me along on my out door run this week ( up and down our road past our house) and looked after my water so had come in useful but I think the running and regularity of it was too much for her
Thank you! So far she’s sticking to it, so we’ll see how she goes. I have said we don’t need to do the 3 runs in one week, so there’s no pressure. She does like to end the run at the local park for the cool down time!
I love this, it’s the best way to bond with your children. I started C25k with my son when he was 11.i had to bribe him with money but he soon got the love.... we still run together now, and he’s 16 , we are really close and I know that was due to the running together.... enjoy
I went out once in w1 with my 12-year-old daughter who does athletics regularly and she complained about how tough it was! I think stamina is the issue - she prefers sprints! It helped with the awe factor as I have continued through to w9 on my own 💁🏻♀️😁
My mum lives in Hayle so I run along Gwithian beach towards the lighthouse. My sister lives in Truro and I do a run there to Malpas round the estuary, it’s fab. I was brought up in Falmouth. Where do you live?
I live in Perranuthoe - near St Michael’s mount. Nice flat running along the Mounts Bay coast path to Penzance. Gwithian must be a lovely run, but a bit ‘lumpy’? Haven’got the confidence for hills yet!
About six weeks ago I got so close to completing Ju-ju’s 10K plan before a hamstring injury struck. In the last couple of weeks I have been getting back out running again, taking it easy at first doing walk/runs from weeks 2 and 4 of C25K before tackling longer 4K, 5K and 6K runs.
I have my first 10K race in just over a week and I had hoped to have got a few 10K runs under my belt before then but due to the injury it looks like the race will be my first attempt at the distance.
So, the plan is to do Parkrun tomorrow then another longer run, maybe 7 or 8k, depending on how I feel, early in the week, then take it easy until next weekend. Tomorrow will also be the first outing for my new shorts, a snazzy pair of Nike 2 in 1s. Please don’t ask for pictures, it’s not a pretty sight.
Hello, just finished W5. Had a small gap between W4 and W5 due to knee strain but fingers crossed no relapse and didn't notice any ill-effect from taking time out. But DID notice how all those I follow seem to suddenly have leapt ahead in terms of run weeks, where does the time go?? Forum is brilliant and I have to discipline myself not to spend hours reading posts 😄👍
Hello! Just ran w9r1 - the longest and furthest I’ve run in my whole life and it felt good! Especially after the shower... but how do I get faster? I feel so slow! Any suggestions welcome...
boom well done you.... you can work on speed after graduating and we can help you with that, there is loads you can do. Just focus on getting through to graduation first.
Can anyone tell me if strava is any good? I downloaded it then was put off by the data- sharing agreement... anyone got positive/negative experience of it?
Hi, i'm on W2R2 tomorrow. Finding it not too bad which is a massive surprise to me, im probably the most sedentary person on the planet. I've not done any form of exercise in about 3 years, I used to do a lot of walking and cycling, but nothing of the sort since.
Im dreading the longer runs, but to be honest im already feeling fitter and more resiliant after the first week which is actually really exciting!
I'm doing week 7 this week. Steadily working my way through though unfortunately due to additional commitments week 7 will in fact take 1.5 weeks but I'll get there
Just working through W7. Pretty uneventful so haven't had much to say post-wise. It's been hard going. The elation of doing the long runs has worn off a bit, just hard work remains...
Week 6 run 3, need to find the time for this run! Life getting the way just now, and now motivation struggling too. Reading through all the posts helps xx
Oops, only just spotted this thread, so a bit late joining in.
This week I've finished week 7 and as of yesterday evening started week 8. The end is in sight!
After doing everything on the treadmill I have now done a couple outside and am mixing it up - having found that outside uses a whole different set of muscles to the treadmill, I do a treadmill run if my legs are still feeling a bit sore from the last run! Was genuinely surprised at the difference - I have hardly had any aches or soreness after all my treadmill runs at all, but I really feel it after an outside run.
Lots of great comments from friends and family about the whole programme and how I am losing weight/looking better - e.g. I had lunch yesterday at a riverside pub, and one of my mates was asking how on earth I could run for 25 minutes - as he has always been way fitter than me, and "even he" couldn't do that! I just told him I am already planning the Bridge to 10k
Fantastic, and should you wish to join, we have a 10k plan ( not the same as C25k) but a weekly thread for support and guidance on Bridge. Thats a huge boost to get that praise. Well done.
Thanks Ju-Ju, in fact I have been lurking around the Bridge to 10k forum for a while, thinking about "what next" (bit premature, but I do like a bit of forward planning!). Think I may be joining one of your "10 is the magic number" programmes in the near future
One of the really inspirational things on here is the journey that all of are going through / have been on - I just went back and found the description of your own week 7 and 8 runs, and how you found them hard (including a scary encounter with a bike-riding hoody!), all of which is very encouraging for us mere mortals, considering where you are now.
Oh wow, I am so chuffed... goodness I remember that so well, I really thought I was going to be in for a fight!!!! Its so funny, starting C25k so late in life and doing my own thing, I have never felt like a proper runner ( if you get my drift), focussed running athletic types scare me, this place is like home and yes I remember all of my C25k journey so well. It changed my life, and has many others on here too.... thankyou so much
Hi Ju-Ju, my name is Gavin and I have just completed w3 r1 and I'm feeling quite good. I live in the Highlands of Scotland and Iam just about ready to run outside rather than the treadmill.
Hello, I’m in W4, I’m loving it! I’m 49, and not run for years! But there’s something about it that just makes me feel so good, and exhausted at the same time.
