Newbie getting better!!
It is challenging - you just get to feeling you are 'comfortable' and then the times increase But - slow and steady is how we get there.
Less than 10% graduate in 9 weeks/with distance which means the vast majority of us had to repeat stages before moving on I think it took me something like thirteen weeks and a bit.
After being on the IC for a few months recently I did the whole programme from scratch again. It's given me a much firmer foundation and was a lot of fun ( if sometimes frustrating in the first few weeks though) as I 'knew' it was possible so instead of stressing about 'can I do it' I was able to concentrate on form, pace, what my body actually does when I run and so on
Wishing you many happy miles in your future and good on you for sticking with it - most people seem to drop out in the second week so you are ahead of the game already
