Smashed Week 6!

I can honestly say, I never thought I would get this far, to be honest I’m not sure I’d get past week one at the beginning, and get here I am having just completed week six of the couch to 5k programme.

Woke up ridiculously early and so even though it’s Sunday, hubby and I decided to leave the house at 6.30! Weather’s a little odd – cloudy but not raining so I wasn’t sure about my choice of top, but was very glad to not have long sleeves at the end!

So, 25 minutes of continuous running was the plan, and 25 minutes I duly did! The app is great and especially on the beginning runs, to leave everything to the voice in your ear works well, so you’re not faffing with watches etc, but on the 25 minute run, the timing updates were a little sporadic, 5 minutes complete, 12.5, 20 and 60 seconds to go. The 7.5 minutes up to the half way point seemed almost endless, but the second up to 20 minutes went relatively quickly, and by that point there’s only 5 minutes to go, and when I’d already managed 20, I knew I could complete it! I wasn’t sure about doing the last 60 seconds at a higher pace, but I did – it knackered me out and recovery took longer but it definitely added to my sense of achievement.

Now there are three weeks to go, I’m 2/3rds of the way through this programme and I have really surprised myself – and to keep up with the trumpet blowing: #ThisGirlCan – go me!!!

Well done bally187. I too was out early this morning doing run 1 of week 7 so 25mins like you and you’re right that 7.5mins up to the half way mark seems long then the rest goes relatively quickly. Look at us running on a Sunday morning 😇😇.
