So six sessions into the program and it's so far, so good. I know we are being eased in to it, but it seems to be working; no aches, no pains and no problems with the shins (which was be biggest concern). I am actually looking forward to W3R1.

Good to hear that your runs are going well and sounds like your recovery has been good too. The programme works because of that gradual increase in demand on the body - improving strength and stamina sensibly to reduce risk of injury. That's why our lovely admin folk and mentors advise 'slow and steady'at this point. It works - pace will increase over time and you can choose to work on this further on. This is such a great programme and for many of us is the beginning of a change for life - little did I realise when I started out on the programme (3 yrs back now) that running would become quite so important to me! The benefits go way beyond improved physical fitness and for me the impact on my mental wellbeing has also been massive. Good luck with the programme! 🙂

Thank you Sandra. I have never been a runner, so to embark on a program like this was not something I ever expected to do. I am certainly glad I have though and I am looking forward to building on my progress week by week.
