W8R2 - Tired & Hungry!!

I think I’ve overdone it today - I feel completely cream crackered. I did complete my run but it was such hard work today.

The run was a real slog. Normally I do a bit extra whilst I’m at the gym, weights, bike maybe but I just went home after my stretches today.

My Monday and Wednesday runs are at lunchtime at the moment because it’s the only time I can squeeze them in during the week. Normally that’s not a problem but today I think I ran out of fuel - I was feeling hungry as I reached the gym, which I don’t normally.

I’ve lost half a stone (through not eating snacks, limiting my lunch to a sandwich and fruit and not having too much pasta at dinner) since starting this program but I’m wondering if I’m now being a bit too strict with myself? Ideally I still need to lose another half a stone somehow. Should I have something between breakfast and lunch on a run day? Does anyone have any ideas?

Definitely having a 2 day rest this time and see if I can finish Week 8 with a nice outside run Saturday morning.

Well done for such determination doing the run when you felt wilted.

With regard to food mid morning I would listen to what your body is telling you. My breakfast before work is very early, so if I was doing a lunchtime run I would probably have a banana or another piece of fruit a couple of hours before running - but see what suits you.

You are nearly at that podium, go you! 😀

Thanks Elfe5 , I think that is a very good idea.

I have breakfast about 7am and I run about midday. I didn’t want to get into bad eating habits again so I knocked all snacks on the head. I’ll try re-introducing a piece of fruit midway on a run day and see how it goes.

I can see that podium glinting in the distance 🤞😁

You are doing so well and full marks for your weight loss. I have been taking 2 rest days the last few runs as I find it helps me as otherwise I just don't have the energy.

All the best for your next run. :)

I think you’re right SuperMouse , I think these runs need two days rest. Trouble is I have quite a physical job 2 days a week and juggling around that is tricky, so I just went for it. Might have to rejig next week’s running plan so I can enjoy it a bit more.

I guess you must be running today then?! Good luck and all the best to you too! 👍👍🏃‍♀️👍😀
