Woke up this morning feeling very nervous for my first post grad run and worrying whether the last week of week 9, running for 30 minutes had been a fluke. Phew! It wasn’t. It was a blustery, but sunny morning, took my buddy Laura with me (didn’t want to develop separation anxiety) set my ipod to 5k when I started running and decided to try and run for 35 minutes and see the distance it took me, when Laura left me I was just about to pack it in and start my warm down walk when a voice says you have 500 metres to go, so decided to give it a go and slowed down and I ran 5kms, so happy! am on target now for my 65th birthday 5 km run in June, so back to 30 minute runs now and build up my stamina and enjoy my running. This programme really works and if there is anyone reading this who has been thinking of starting, go for it you can do it. I’m sure I can hear someone saying slow and steady? 😎

Wow that’s brilliant! I wonder sometimes if it was just a fluke that I managed the W5R3 run what are we like 😊 mmmm slow and steady I’m sure I’ve heard that said on here before 🤔 sounds like a wise saying 😊
Wow this is inspiring I started C25 last July and through winter managed 20 mins post grad runs - now just built up again to 30 min but not making 5 k 😢😢😢I make about 4.45 beginning to get quite disheartened feel like I will never make 5 k. Which app did you use please 😀
Hello Heartlesstroll, I couldn’t get the app with Sarah Millican over here in NZ, so I did the NHS 9 week one with Laura. Her voice is so calm and reassuring, I couldn’t have done it without her. The music was awful, but I needed her to tell me when to run/walk etc and took her out with me today. I think you are pretty inspiring yourself, I couldn’t imagine being strong willed enough to run through a winter like you and the others on this forum have done. 4.45 is an amazing distance already and now that your summer is coming, you will soon crack it. For me I don’t really mind what distance I do I may never be able to run it again, but as long as I can get out a couple of times a week I’ll be happy. 😀
Woohoo that's wonderful!!
