Round 2

Having graduated a little over a week ago and then completing the full 5K in 45 minutes on Friday, I have decided to start the program again!

Why?

I perform much better when I have a goal, so I have decided that I am going to run 5K in 30 Minutes or better on a consistent basis! To do that I need to increase my pace by 50% which is not going to be easy, so I hit reset on Laura and commenced round 2.

Today was Run 1 Week 1 and I completed it with an average running pace of 5.9 mins/km which is pretty much on the money for a 5K in 30. I think this Week 1 Run 1 was every bit as hard as the first one but I did it and am am ready to do it again on Wednesday!

Wish me luck, I will do this!.

Wow that's a great idea! Are you still alternating walking with running or are you jogging during the walking bits?

I decided to opt for the brisk walk between runs rather than a jog. I figured it would be easier to maintain the higher pace during the early weeks, while I build up my stamina for faster running. The only difference between this time and the first time is the speed, I am hoping the progression through the weeks will be simular to the first time around and I end up completing round two running at least 5K in the 30 minues.

Cool, I'm tempted to try it out. I've started JuJu's magic plan to build up to 60 minutes. I started week 2 this morning with a 39 minute run but I'm still not hitting 5k. I might use the C25K podcasts on my medium / short run days to work on speed. Thank you, that's really given me a bit of direction 👍😃

Now there’s a plan! Good luck with it. I can see that it helps to have a structure like this.

I did consider doing it, too, but decided against it. I have set my own goals and all seems to be working well, even though they may take a while to achieve!

I was concerned that I would just stop if I did not have a rigid schedule to follow, I can be a bit lazy and did not trust myself! Good luck with your plan, I think all it takes is motivation at the end of the day! I knew the C25K app would give me that, but I am sure there are many ways of achieving the same goal 👍

Loads of people restart, as you have suggested, but I have never heard of anyone completing it in this form.

Keep us posted
