There been a lot of talk about middle and old age on the forum so i thought I would post this. My partner told me about this man the other night. He started running in his 90's I think and went on to complete Marathons until he was over a 100. Most of you probably know about him but if not.
I went to the gym with my Dad today, who took up kayaking when he was 80 after a fairly sedentary number of years caring for my mum through Alzheimers. II persuaded him to do some work in the gym to help build up his strength. Last summer he kayaked the Great Glen (crossing Scotland from Fort William to Inverness) at the age of 82.
Lordy, Lordy!!!!! At 73 there’s hope for me yet to run a fair few marathons, that is of cause after I can manage to run 5k, ha,ha. Thank you for that post it’s cheered me up no end. I’ve rehydrated well today, my kits laid out ready and my alarm is set so I’m up bright and early for a parkrun tomorrow. Just one more run crossed off on my way to being in the Guinness record book, well!, I can dream can’t I?
