Three minutes is such a long time!

After taking about two weeks to complete the three runs of week 2 I have just started week 3. It all started rather well. I can do this, I thought. This 90 seconds lark is a doddle. And then came the three minute run! And it was never-ending. But I plodded on, survived it, and got through the second 90 second run. When it came to the last bit of running and once again it was three minutes, I panicked slightly and started to have visions of myself sprawled on the pavement as I remembered the never-endingness of the previous run. Drum roll folks...I did it! Not with any sort of finesse or elegance, but with my somewhat galumphing gait and yet I got through it. A total of 9 minutes running time which, for me, is one heck of an achievement :-)

Well done. I am sure you have heard it before but slow down as much as possible.

If you are out of breath, you are going too fast.

Woop well done. Bet you feel fantastic. As Dunder says keep it slow, you'll be amazed at what you can do xxx

Well done ... each time you push through you are training your brain for the later runs... it is so worth it!!

I'm on wk 3 and I can honestly say I have no finesse what's so ever. I have suffered terribly with my legs..thank you to whoever posted link to warm down exercises.

Galumphing or Gazelling - it doesn't matter - the important thing indeed the only thing is that you did it - well done. Part of this whole running lark is in the mind - try not to think too much about whether or not it's 3 minutes or five minutes or whatever - and just start to take in your surroundings and enjoy the fact that you are running :)
