So my partner purchased me some Brook running shoes. Asked him to come help me look for cheapish trainers. He was having none of it. Wish he'd behave π
So did my 1st run of wk 2 this morning. Shoes felt amazing really supported my arches. Stuggled a little with 90 seconds a couple i didnt quite make it. But onwards and upwards π

Sounds like the new shoes were helping and don't worry about not quite making a couple of the 90 second blocks, it will have helped build your strength and next time out you'll cruise it
Well done you, btw the only hard and fast rule on the forum, is if you get new trainers, you post a pic so we can all drool. My Brooks are a couple of years old now, so would love to see what a new pair looks like, hint, hint.....
But treating your feet kindly us a good thing, Brooks seem to be particularly good for 'issues'....
Give that run another go so it is properly in the bag.
You could try taking smaller steps when it gets really tough... and slow it right right down (the walks too perhaps) You are looking for a pace that you will eventually sustain for 30 minutes.
My first running shoes were Brooks Green Silence (before that I was in walking boots) I was really looking for something more ethical than the average nightmare so it was a complete accident that I ended up with a minimalist shoe... has worked well ever since.
