Week 3 run 1

What a blast.... I didn’t want to go out, but i went. It rained all the time and it started to get very dark. I might have to ask the council to install some lights in the vineyards. 🤣

Ooh I bought some new running shoes and also a pair with chunky grip. It was like having 4 wheel drive.

Special thanks to

Rua8 for once again motivating me to run tonight.

Mfamilias for inspiring me to start the couch to 5k program.

Anni Lennox for shouting Hold your head up moving on, in my ear...

And the fab song Feel it still by Portugal, which amazingly kicked in on the final hill and helped me to run up it.

Plus you guys

So, get some good trainers, inspirational and motivating friends and some funky music and just do it.

If this old Black Sheep can do it, you can

I’m not really a morning person, I can’t do breakfast until around 10:00 I know that is very bad.

I am trying to eat sensibly, grilled salmon and baked potatoes for tea after the run.

I need to try and sneak in a run before rua8 does her runs... She did her w3 r 2 a couple of days ago

I try to run early each day... but I would be really hungry by 10!!!! The grilled salmon sounds delicious :)

I am still hungry, the test now is to Stay Away From The Biscuits.

I don’t work on Sunday and Thursday morning, so I could run... I might give it a go

😂 you might well overtake me these next few days and get to wk4 before me - I’m on holiday as of tomorrow and I’m going to do my best to get a run or two in while I‘m away, plus one tomorrow morning, but I am not sure if I will succeed in doing them 100% regularly. Anyways I’m only on Wk3R1 so we’re on the same run, just that we rest and run on different days. Where I’ll be staying on hols is on an incline. It’s not exactly a hill but I’ll be going from mostly flat the past 2 weeks to mostly inclined upwards this week. I am not sure if my legs will thank me for it!

Ahhh! you have a holiday,,, I can stop worrying that you will leave me in your dust.

I am flying to the UK on the 1st till the 5th and I was worried I might drop behind 😬😬

Haha! Don’t worry, I think we can both keep pace with each other over the coming weeks. I have, for the first time ever, packed running gear in my bag!

Weighed myself today... 83.4 I stood on it a second time to double check. I was 87 two months ago.

I told Mrs Sensible at least 6 times and then gave each cat a prod or a kick as I informed them.

I am off for my run...

Whoop whoop

Yay!! I had to convert that to understand it, but it’s about half a stone I think. That’s great, whoop whoop indeed! 💪🏼🏃‍♂️ Keep going!!

OK; I’ll just have to wait. Although we don’t mind dirty new shoes 😂

When I can get off the farm I am off to buy the obligatory new shoes! So excited to hear they feel like 4 wheel drive.

I bought a cheap pair of trail running shoes, €50 I thought they only have to last a month until the rain goes. But I quite like them.

Big thick tread underneath, the paths here are clay and it is very slippery

It is motivating to have a few mates doing this running lark at the same time as you. I also met a guy this evening who did this programme last year and is running a half marathon soon - he went from no running and wanting to lose weight to a fit and trim runner. Yet another success story showing that it actually works, huzza!

I'm very proud of you, PN! That looks more like a river than a road. I'm also very jealous of your super-grip trainers, and yes, the tradition here is to post pics of new running babies for everyone to drool at. I love that Portugal the Man song - it has given me a kick up the tush on many a run.

The songs are amazingly important to me. No Roots by Alice Merton and IDGAF by Dua Lipa also have great beats to help me along.

I can’t believe how slippery the tracks are, in a month they will be ok but the mosquitoes will arrive
