Would like some advice please, I don't finish work until 5pm and the drive home is 30/45 minutes depending on the day.
It's pitch black now, do people run in the dark?
Should I get a gym membership? What do you do at this time of the year?

Early or late..at this time..High Viz gear and a head torch...pick your route well and run it in daylight first....maybe at the weekend 
Is it possible to run in your lunch break Emilou? If not it’s running in the dark or the treadmill. I cannot advise on the former as I haven’t done it yet. But I ran on the treadmill during the snow and ice when I was doing c25k and it is a good option if you don’t feel safe outdoors. Enjoy!
The dark has been my barrier over the last few weeks, my usual morning running route feels too scary for me in the dark.....so just haven’t been running. So last week I decided that I just needed to find a route that was well lite.....and that route is just outside my front door.....I have started doing laps around my estate at 6 am in the morning, and it feels ok and I feel safe, so all good so far.
