Hi,

I’ve done week 5 run 2 but I can’t seem to get my head into the right place for r3. I’m really not convinced I can run for 20 mins non stop yet!!

Has anyone got any tips to help me power through?!

Repeat after me, 40,000 folk have got through W5R3, I will be one of them...

Also you’ve already run lots of minutes on your runs, just not one block. Take a little peek at the W5 posts and see how many say ‘OMG I just did W5R3’ or similar and you’ll be encouraged to go.

As ever the mantra of slow and steady will get you there. Especially on this run the adrenaline can kick in, leading you to set off way too quickly. think glacial pace and you’ll be posting the 'OMG I just did W5R3’ posts too.

I wish you good luck, but you won’t need it, your training will kick in we promise....

When I did the 20 minute run I realised very soon (about 90 seconds in!) that I was running too fast. I slowed right down and was super surprised when I finished and I wasn’t in a gasping heap. Give it a go. You don’t know what you can do unless you try. If you don’t manage it, it’s a practice run!

You just ran for 16 minutes with five minutes of brisk walking in the middle....... total 21 minutes. Unless your brisk walking does not expend any effort, then there is very little difference to a gentle jog and W5R3 is actually a minute shorter.

The plan got you this far. Trust it and believe in yourself.

Slow and steady......... it's yours for the taking.

Practice your grin........

Believe! Or use the force Luke! Seriously though don't overthink it; just go out like you have with every other run, listen to the app and do what it says. You can do this, you really, really can 👍😁

Top tip- stop worrying 😁

And don’t put too much pressure on yourself- go out with the attitude: “I’ll give it a go and if it doesn’t work out the. It’s a practice run” you’ll be great!👍🏃‍♀️
