Running with my son

I am only on week one, but when I get to the longer runs is it ok for my 9 year old to do the same? He does the "1k a day" at school. He runs rings round me now, that's why I started 😁

Why not? He’ll probably do what mine does and have to double back to keep with me 😂😂

That's what he did yesterday 😂

Yes, the only thing you ever have to remember is to keep to your own plan and don’t get tempted to do his speedy bits, because it can mess with your head if he is so much faster than you...

But you can suggest the Doubling back method - lots of folk do it with faster husbands/wives/partners etc. It’s a good way of being together without losing your own rhythm.

I love your enthusiasm and self belief that you’ll be running in weeks with your son, that’s exactly the spirit to get you through.

Lovely jubbly

Thanks xx. I have to do something about my health and fitness, so I will be around longer for my son.

Just check this out... and the section on running with children is covered there... run with him, but at your pace... let him do the double back as long as he is safe..:) Great for him fitness wise and great for both of you sharing time together...
