I’ve just completed day 1! I found it really tough especially the last two run sections. My mood does feel a bit higher even though my body is exhausted! I’m both looking forward to and dreading the next run 😅
Helpful comments: Encouragement! Tell me it gets easier? Tell me you actually start enjoying this?

It does get easier! I’ve only finished the first week but after the third run there’s definitely a difference and I’ve found that it does get easier (although it may be minuscule at first, but you’ll notice the small changes).
About enjoying it, I guess it all depends on the person. I’ve started looking forward to my runs, and hopefully you’ll be the same soon enough.
As most of the amazing people of the forum has advised, go slow and steady - just find your rhythym first.
You really well start enjoying it, honest! The programme is really well paced so trust it but don’t worry if you feel the need to repeat a week or a run. It’s been so good for my mood, I think I’m an addict now! Well done for starting, keep going 😊
You will start to enjoy it and feel really pleased and positive about the whole thing. I have even failed to complete one of my runs but rather than beat myself up about it and with lots of support from this site and friends who are also doing the C25K I just re - ran it ! And can tell you I feel chuffed that I completed it x
It does get easier. Just completed week 2 run 1. Was easier than week 1 run 1! Was excited to do it even though it was raining. Rest! Amazing how your body recovers!
I just did run 1, I had to walk most of last half as my heart was pounding so much. Kept going though. We got up and did it, that's the most important thing x
Tbh each run is hard but prior to each, you’ve built yourself up to go on for longer, if you know what I mean. So I’m at 28 mins and that’s as hard as one minute was at the start. Probably sounds confusing. The feeling of accomplishment and pride at the end of each, however, is there every time and probably increases as your runs increase in length. Now I’m almost crying in pride when I finish!
Check this out...and slow down..think snail on a go slow...if you are still struggling, then slow down more and, before anyone says it..there is no such thing as too slow, ( unless you are running away from a bear or are in a race)
Delight not dread... just take it very gently..loads of folk have felt just like you...they survived and are still here, still running
I’ve completed week one and I do already feel like my stamina has improved and it was getting easier with each little burst of running.
I’m enjoying running (although this morning’s was in the rain), and feel it’s quite the accomplishment because it’s something I never did before!
It’s something you can look back on and really celebrate yourself for because YOU put the hard work in, no one else did it for you! Keep going, you’ll do great!
I'm only 1 run ahead of you but run 2 was easier once I got out there. Hold onto that high! You earned it, it's yours and you deserve another, and another ...
As a previous poster has said, I found week 2 easier than week 1! Less stopping and starting maybe?? Anyway, well done for starting, power on and keep going. 👍👍👍
So if you found it tough, I need to be honest with you, it isn’t going to get easy any day soon. But it does get manageable as your bod gets used to the exercise. The upside is that it does give you a sense of enormous well being, and actually yes it gets enjoyable if I’m honest slightly addictive too.
But this is the group/running club that can help you - there’s no better.
Good luck, rest up nice and easy and I really hope you have a good run next time out
