First ever 5K!

I’ve done it! For the first time in my life I have ran 5K!

I graduated 8th March and so it’s took me one more month. I graduated at 3.65K and added a minute on at a time until I’ve got there today

So, for any newbies/newly graduated people out there (who aren’t at 5k yet) - keep at it, it’s worth it.

Happy Sunday everyone 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

What’s next Liz? 🧐

At the moment I’ve no desire to go further than 5K, so I guess for me it’s a case of keeping to that commitment of at least 2 x runs/week.... (more if time allows)

I’m loving the added little benefits though... I can run 100m if I see my bus coming now, and the other day I climbed four flights of stairs and although thighs were aching, lungs said no problem 🤣👍

Always interesting to know. Like you I have no desire to run further just trying to run the 5k a bit faster. Missing the C25k vibes though 🏃‍♀️

Thanks for posting this as it gives me hope! I graduated a few weeks ago and hadn’t bothered about distance as I knew I was very slow. So yesterday I decided to check my distance and was a bit disappointed to find I’d only run 3.5 k in 33 mins ☹️

I will keep at it though however long it takes. Not too long I hope because I signed up to do the local 5k Race for Life in July! It’s the inclines that do me in.....that and my age!

I’ll bet! Where I live there are no hills so I know I’m lucky. And we know that speed isn’t important don’t we. IF (and only if) you’re bothered about reaching 5k, then try adding on 1 minute every other run until you get there. Otherwise, keep doing what you’re doing... it’s amazing! We’re amazing! Who’d have thought 5(ish) months ago that we’d be capable of running 33 minutes?? You go Nannalyn53! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Liz x😘

Fab! Soooo pleased for you! I'd been wondering how you were getting on. Bloody impressed with the way you stuck with it. Slow and steady, eh?! :)
