I need a wee!!!

Just done w5r2 and feel great BUT I keep needing a wee and it’s spoiling it! Last two runs I had to pause halfway and get me arse out (good job I run on deserted country roads!) but I don’t like it and didn’t stop today but it’s definitely distracting me! I don’t want to run dehydrated - what can I do?

I sympathise with you ! Maybe consider not drinking loads in the couple of hours before running but make sure you just keep hydrated generally

Thanks I suppose two mugs of tea is quite a lot and diuretic! I’ll try one tea and a bit of water instead

Snap! Nothing like heading into the woods to find a large tree to squat behind (in your hi-vis). We should get camo gear. Oldfloss found a military camo cape/tent thing that would be perfect. Instead I carry a dog poo bag and tissues...sorry, possibly too much information.

Firstly, well done for getting to W5 ... brilliant!

Could the need to wee be partly in your mind? Perhaps you're worrying about it because you've needed to go before.

Obviously you must be well hydrated so make sure you are well hydrated the day before then keep your water intake to a minimum in the hour or so before you run. If you haven't filled yourself up nothing can come out!

If you are always well hydrated things should even themselves out.

Good luck and happy running!

Thanks - I am feeling pretty bloody chuffed with myself! And yes it might be mental! Lol! I’ll try and drink less tea before!

Yes, two cups of tea might not be a good idea. At this stage (and current weather) you don’t need much before you go out, with these distances, pace etc. Try without and see how you get on 🏃‍♀️

Get up and not have a cup of tea????? Lol! Not sure if I can go completely without! I normally have to wait a couple of hours before running to get all my 💩 out!! Lol too much information, sorry - gonna try just one cup as soon as I rise then wait till after run for number 2 (cup of tea not 💩)

I hear you 😉 like you I wait until ablutions have been done but I don’t usually eat or drink until I come back. That’s my reward - toast etc. No matter what the last thing I do is go to the loo 👵😅

🤣 after x3 babies my pelvic floor isn’t as strong as I’d like so I get up and run and then have my first drink as soon as I get home!! Works fine for this stage but I’m working on those pelvic floor muscles for when I start doing longer runs 😵

I - who generally drinks water a pint at a time - have just a small glass before my morning run. So far I've been fine; hydrated but comfortable.

Yep - this was such a worry for me I went to my GP who referred me to a pelvic floor specialist. I had been doing my pelvic floor exercises, or so I though - pity I hadn't been doing them correctly for the last 25 years :D It's worth getting checked out and I find that cranberry juice in the morning instead of water is helpful, but definitely reduce your two cups of tea to one and see how that helps. A she-wee is another option if you don't want to get your arse out :D Good luck!

Yes I have a shewee! I forgot about that!!!

And it’s not w5r2 - it was w6r2! Got my first 20 minuter today and I’ll be taking my shewee today and only having one cup of tea!
