Finding the time

This week saw another week of Ju-Jus 10K plan. As the runs get further the time gets longer and so finding the time becomes harder!

After last week's 4/5/8K runs I was beginning to wonder how I was going to manage it again this week. Instead of Morning runs I resorted to lunchtime runs for the 4 & 5K. Fortunately working from home allows me a little luxury of being able to go out and get back in reasonable time, get a shower and be back at my desk during a lunchtime window.

Tuesday's 4K was a bit of a slog so you end up questioning yourself for the longer ones! But then adding another 1K for Thursday comes and goes and the world is still spinning!

Then the weekend arrives and the longer 8k with it. Yet again the weekend is complicated but a window of opportunity arrives and off I go. The dog stares up at me knowingly and I head off out leaving him worrying about my return. I suddenly realised that I have not worked out my route! A quick dive into Strava to find a previous 8K run and off I go.

Next week should be easier with half-term and a day off - not sure if I am looking forward to the 9K yet or not but the only way to get to 10 is to go past 9!

Happy running everyone and keep believing.

A whole hour less in bed! That’s wrong on every possible level 😳💤

There is a man near to where I live goes at least a 5k run, running I would say at about 24 minutes pace WITH HIS DOG on a lead, I feel sorry for the dog, but I see him with the dog most mornings.

It sounds lovely, I would love to do it too sometime. Right now the running is for me. The dog has no self control and I would end up in a ditch!

Well done for finding the time! I've done the same as you for the 4K run, and manage to squeeze it in between classes. Even when the runs are tough, I feel energized enough after them. Good luck with W6!

Thanks good luck yourself. I am thinking about doing the 9K mid week for a change as I have a day off!

Yes, good idea! I've got some free afternoons and until last week, I was doing the longer runs on Sundays but I think I prefer to start with the long ones now that we're at 8K and leave two (or even three) rest days before the other two runs. Wish you lovely runs next weeks then!

Sounds like you're doing great Richard! I'm so looking forward to Easter holiday so I get more choice over when to run.

Keep on at it! 😊
