It's a year to the day that I started C25k! What a year. On my morning run I reflected back to the very first run which I still remember vividly - the pain and suffering! I am now physically and mentally fitter. I look forward to running and love the post run feelings but don't always enjoy the middle bit. So lots of positives. But over the last 3 months it has got harder. I had got up to 35/40 even 45 minutes and a few 5k's, all very very very slow but that side doesn't bother me. I am now probably only running twice a week and often only for 20 or 25 minutes. 30 minutes now seems so hard. There's some life issues that get in the way and of course the weather hasn't helped. I suppose the reason I am writing this is either for someone to give me a big nudge or to say it's ok, you're still running and not sitting on the couch.
I am so glad I started and completed the programme. Starting something new late in life is hard but well worth it. I am amazed that I have been injury free thanks to all the great advice. I tripped over my own feet after 10 metres before I started! I get a lot out of the forum even though I don't post a lot and I am always amazed by other's stories. So thanks again to you all.

Great to hear from you KoKo30. Your comments about running smaller lengths of time reminded me of somebody else on the forum who posted about this (sorry I can’t remember who). They discovered that they had a vitamin D deficiency. I don’t know whether you are in the UK, but there is a growing awareness that many people living in our latitudes are low on vitamin D and would benefit from taking daily supplements. - No pressure, just a thought. 😀
It is great that you are running does not matter for how long.
The active10 walking programme on here is excellent 7 days per week and is a superb.🌟
I suppose the running impact considerations and repair requirements have to be allowed for.
At 74 and just beginning my running which I love and enjoy,
If I were not I would choose many, many other options. That is only one option.
But a transition option for me would be to run for 15mins - 20 mins everyday, or some period of time that the repair time still did its job.
I believe that running is no more taxing on your body than brisk walking, as demonstrated recently on Trust me I am a Doctor.
In fact later if I get to a cross road s I would use daily the C25k programme concept, 5min warm up, run for a comfortably short period and the other 5 min warm down period, stretching etc,
Perfect daily half hour dose of health, better than an apple a day my Mum used to tell me about, bless her.
It says on FAQ’s🤔 or somewhere if you are not enjoying it,and you have given it a fair shot,do something else, it is your life and your journey.
This amazing gift that is HealthUnlocked gives you every other choice also.🌟👏👏
The vitamin D is a thought, you need daily 10 mins of sunshine,🙈😂😂. But you get it from eggs, oily fish, some fortified cereals, and of course supplements.
Interesting, one of the very few negatives in breast feeding,it does not pass to baby.
My daughters children were born in Sweden, even less daylight hours and sun than us 🙈
Young children get vitamin D as part of their vaccination programme.
Swedish stats put their divorce and suicides partly due to lack of vitamin D. So they take it very seriously.
Hey no, just love to see you enjoy your running.🌟👏👏🏃♀️
thanks for this. I do enjoy the running most of the time! I also walk about 25 miles a week with the dog and a lot of that is brisk walking and I swim and cycle occasionally so I have plenty of variety. Your thoughts on Vitamin D are a bit scary! think I will get a dose quick!!!
