Wary about week 5!

Just done W4R3 in the ParkRun. No matter how much more running I do each week I still come in near last ๐Ÿ˜‚. Oh well I know this wonโ€™t be forever. However Iโ€™ve just looked to see what week 5 holds and Iโ€™m a little scared about the 20 mins on run 3! Thatโ€™ll be next Saturdayโ€™s ParkRun again. Anyone else think week 5 increases dramatically? ๐Ÿ˜‚

I know! I have the schedule printed out and stuck on my wall and I keep looking at that week 5 run 3 and trying to figure out how it works and why it works. I am one run behind you so let's just see how it goes. If you search 'week 5' on here you will see how much dismay there is at run 3 but how proud people are to complete it. It's a milestone. We can do it.

Ooh I will! Thanks! Must say the others have all worked out despite my constant dismay ๐Ÿ˜‚

Loads of folk worry..and think it is a huge jump..it isn't... it is just another run, that follows the others. ( Thanks to some very scary posts a while back, it got itself a reputation...)

Take it slow and take it steady.. that is all you have to do...

Park run.. you are just starting this running journey.. go, walk or walk run, whatever run you are on and enjoy... there is time for speed and distance after Graduation.

Trust the programme and have confidence in yourself and how far you have come...

Yes I just do my own C25k session in the ParkRun. I know itโ€™ll come in the end. I like the atmosphere and support there. Most people are from proper running groups but theyโ€™re all encouraging ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ I think the weather put off the regular walkers for the last 3 weeks.

Well done! In the snow as well?

Just don't overthink w5 r3 take it as it comes, you will do it, remember, if it gets really tough, just back off a tad, it doesn't matter about being near last, you'll never be last, that's the tailwalker!๐Ÿ˜Š

Last is good, ๐Ÿค”

you have found your handbrake and are using it.๐Ÿ‘

Trust the programme.๐Ÿ‘

It has prepared you for this.

Believe it.๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

And no it is not a hike up, it is the programme saying to you , it believes in you and knows you can do it.

The facilitators have given you the means also.Example is slow and steady handbrake.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

If you look at the overall workout time for each session, between warm up and cool down, then there are no great jumps apart from in your head.

W4=21.5 mins

W5R1=21 mins

W5R2=21 mins

W5R3=20 mins

It seems a lot of people on here think that they can do a brisk walk without expending any effort, while in fact the difference compared to a gentle jog is minimal.

Just relax and enjoy your triumph.

Just a Brillant way to approach it.๐ŸŒŸ

Thank you.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Hi Tasha, Iโ€™m so impressed that youโ€™re doing Parkruns-theyโ€™re on my to do list.

Iโ€™m trying not to worry about week 5 run 3. The worst that can happen is that Iโ€™ll end up walking for a bit. Every run is an improvement overall for us. Weโ€™ll get there ๐Ÿ˜€

Iโ€™m only doing a session within them then walking to the end with maybe an extra couple of minutes jogging.

Iโ€™m still impressed ๐Ÿ˜€

Try not the think about it. Just do R1&2, then you'll be surprised how well you do!!
