Wobbles about week 5

Morning! I'm new here and currently on week 4 of Couch to 5k. Anyone else have the wobbles when looking forward to week 5?! I want to give it my best shot but was wondering how many had to repeat week 4 first?

I’m in exactly the same position. Week 5 looks pretty scary! Exciting though.

I'm in a mix of excitement and fear lol Tomorrow is the last day of week four!

I completed W5R2 on Wednesday. I was nervous prior to my run, as the thought of 8 minutes terrified me. The advice given was to take it slow and to remember that I am physically prepared for it. Once I took this on board I sailed through it. I actually enjoyed it and it was such a great feeling when I finished.

You can do it! Trust yourself and the process, as the past 4 weeks have been preparing you for W5.

Thank you! I'm certainly going to give it my best shot! I did find that running when there wasn't a gap coming up easier than when I was given a minute warning to end lol

Hey CurledInsanity! Welcome to the forum and fantastic that you have completed all those runs already! W5 is nothing to be scared of! Honestly it was my favourite week! You’re in for a treat!

I was nervous before every single run, but I decided the only way I was going to know what I could do was to get out there. And it only makes the experience even more amazing! A lot of C25K for me has been about quietening the noise of doubt and quite frankly deciding, I don’t care what you say, we’re doing it! (I am mentally stable...honest! 🤣)!

You have done everything you need to do the next run and W5 is going to be amazing! Relax, go slow and enjoy! You can do it! ❤️

in reply toFabulous450

Thank you :) dont worry you sound perfectly sane! Lol

I know what you mean about that doubt and the fact that when my brain clocks on to what I'm doing it doesn't like it lol I need a lot of distraction to get me there 😂

You will get there. Like others have said, you really don’t need to repeat if you’ve completed it’s in the bag! Just keep moving forward! ❤️

I’ve not repeated any. But have found sometimes it’s a real struggle. But I always love the time when I’ve just finished the run. Yes you feel tired but good for it. Keep it up!!

I get all excited the night before when I know I'm running in the morning! I'm really enjoying it but everyone here has been so supportive :)

Hello! If you completed all the runs in week 4, you don't need to repeat the week. You are ready for week 5! Trust this programme! It works! Good luck! 😎😎

in reply toAng33333

I am certainly just going to go for it next week :)

I know there seems to be a mantra here but do believe in the programme (and yourself). You have made it to week 4 and that is awesome.

If you do wobble on the runs repeat them but you haven't so fat so there is no reason to think you will in week 5.

Slow and steady race those snails listen to your guide and you will be fine.

Keep us informed...

We will all be cheering you on

in reply toOuching

I will do! Thank you :) everyone has been so supportive :D

Hi I really struggled W4R3 and couldn’t complete it so was justifiably pretty worried that I couldn’t do any of w5, anyway tonight I completed w5r2 and it was a lot easier than I anticipated and I had found the same with R1 so please don’t worry you will be ready and hopefully you too will be buzzing the same as I have this week 😊 good luck and enjoy it 😊😊

in reply toWalswife

That's amazing! Having read all these words of encouragement, I'm now buzzing for tomorrow morning :D

Yeah. I love the feeling when I sit down after I’ve done the run, feeling rather tired but like I’ve done a great job.

Yes! Amazing isn't it! That's the best part :D

I have also just finished week 4 run 3 and I am worried I won’t be able to do week 5 .i will try on Sunday and if I struggle I will do run 3 of week 4 , but I feel the same every week I get too, so who knows let’s give it ago . I am doing mine on the treadmill at present because I’m not confident enough and feel embarrassed in the street running . Well done for getting this far keep going👍

in reply toBrod2

I'm the same. I get to the beginning of a new week and panic! But I'm going to give it my best shot. Plus I worried about running outside too but in the end realised people actually don't even look. Sometimes I get a good morning, people moving out of the way but that's it :) I did a 0915 run this morning too and no one cared! It felt amazing! Go for it :)

in reply toBrod2

I've just completed week 5 run two and actually it's really not that bad! I shocked myself with how much I enjoyed it and it's lovely to be out in the fresh air :) I got at 0630 as I work during the day. You'll love running outside :D let me know how you get on xx
