Why does W6R3 seem so challenging?

So I ran 20 minutes in W5 and felt pretty surprised and confident after completing it. Then there was the whole walk run walk thing in W6 . Now I am putting off W6R3 .

25 minutes running 😳 ...really...me???

Anyone else feeling like this?

Maybe, but no need... slow and steady, one foot in front of the other.. and you will be fine:)

You're letting it get under your skin. You did w5 r3. That was harder.

You can do this. You really can. Remember how good w5 r3 felt? Don't deny yourself the triumph of w6 r3!

👍😉

I felt a bit like that in W7 - “No walks??!!! Really??!!” By W8 I had got over the shock and felt so much better. You can do it! 😀

You can do it.

Why are you doubting?

🙂 thanks . 28 minutes has been stuck in my head for days!!

Will need to follow oldfloss advice again “slow and steady “

Ok I have my mantra for tomorrow

Slow and steady a minute at a time

It’s not the running it’s a mindset thing isn’t it

Running is all about belief.................how else do runners star a 100 mile race?

Thank you for the encouragement . It helps knowing people felt the same at this stage.

Most people are shocked/dismayed/horrified at run 1 of week 6 - and daunted by run 3 of week 6 - I know I was! But guess what? Like me, you’ll do it. It’s just the next manageable challenge, just like those you have already successfully met. 😀 You’ve got this, just don’t overthink it. x

I’m only a couple of runs in front of you and I definitely found R3 Wk6 so much easier than the 20min run in Wk5. Like you I was dreading it as for me R3 Wk5 was awful, keep it slow and steady and you’ll smash it 😀

I’ve been there - about a week ago, and at least three times before that over the last few years. It’s a mental challenge.

Remember that your legs and lungs are ready for this, they’ve been building up to it for the past 6 weeks or more. It’s just your mind which needs to learn to trust them - it’s not had so much opportunity to learn its new skill yet ;)

I remember that feeling but it is possible, honest 😁

It just sounds like such a long time doesn't it! But have faith, w6 r1 and r2 will have done more for you than you think 👍🏼
