Inspired by Oldfloss ' reminder to go find our comfy pace - I set off this morning along one of my prettier routes - my only goal to listen to a radio play podcast and run myself out of the dumps I was in (after a gruelling week at work).
There was no sunshine but there were lots of snowdrops, daffodil buds about to burst, a river running dangerously close to the edge of the path a moderately interesting radio play and me running under the sky π
When the Strava lady told me I'd done 4k I slowed down so I could ensure my run and radio play could finish at the same time.
A very slow 5k but a lovely start to the weekend and I'm no longer down in in the dumps π
Happy weekend running!

Hi I like to notice what is around me- it takes my mind off my running. Thank you for your post- I feel like Iβve had half an hour in the open air. When I first started the plan I was running in the dark around a small harbour town with narrow streets and old terraced houses ( I could do nice interesting loops). Anyway as it was dark I relied more on smells than things to see. I knew which houses were burning coal, cooking curry etc. I guess itβs a kind of mindfulness. Enjoy your next run.
Running is definitely therapy for me. During the week (due to work) I usually have to run in the evenings which means in the dark during the winter. This limits me to residential roads or the local bypass - which are well lit but really not very inspiring - So I try to do weekend runs somewhere more pretty.
I love running outside whatever the weather really - it all part of the 'mindful' experience!
Lovely post and photo thanks- all those daffodils will be wonderful very soon-I think we need to admire this photo again in a couple of weeks time please! So pleased that you had a good run with excellent side benefits. π
