Over the moon I did the 20min run of wk5 on Saturday and at a decent pace I thought too for me..(sub 10min mile)..but then Sunday I hurt my back..(a pulled muscle I think!😫), so i couldn’t start wk6 in Monday😩. Felt bit easier today so attempted run1 but soon as I picked the pace up my back hurt!😞 Anyways being a trooper, I rallied and dropped pace..5mph..did the 5mins run and just kept going and OMG..30mins went in the bag!!🤸♀️💃🤸♀️💃
I’m so happy at my progress😁. Mega motivated now! I know it’s a slow pace but I felt good and strong and I’m all over that speed now..wait till 9wks..I’ll whoop ass that time!!!!🏎💨

Do you know about the 10% rule which experienced runners use to make sure they do not increase their training load by too much? If not, I suggest that you stick to the plan, or you will be increasing your injury risk considerably.
Hi..I didn’t know all that so thanks for taking the time to explain! I’m an eager beaver and obvs keen to get better, but not at the risk of an injury.
I do feel stronger already and I can tell my stamina is building so i know the program is working.
I will try to pace myself and not get carried away!
Yes, listen to IannodaTruffe and keep going with the program. Don’t worry about pace at the moment, you’re just building up your running ‘muscles’ at this stage. Speed will follow.
The thing is though you can so easily get injured if you do too much, and it’s easily done. Our running legs have to get built and it happens gradually.
